Robinson will be closed from OKC Boulevard to I-40, and SW 7th from Robinson to Broadway, for about four months beginning Monday, July 6. It's for a road reconstruction project. Weather and other factors could affect the timeline. Thanks for your patience.
Presuming this is for the updated streetscape, including the roundabout for the sculpture.

Thank God this young man was observant and alert; deserving of recognition and appreciation with a 'Hero Medal.'

I believe those are two separate pieces of art. Here's a link to the firm doing the sculpture for Scissortail (I think it's called night sky or into the night).

I asked about Taking Flight a month ago and was told they were waiting on the artist.

But I also saw something that said it was on hold due to Thunder Alley. As we know, the 2 sculptures would be very similar and directly across the street from one another.

I think you're right there will be art in the roundabout! It's just a different piece than the one in the park. This area will be quite the little art haven. 4th St Experience, Taking Flight, Roundabout, Convention Center Light Installation, Convention Center Garage, and Art in the lower park (read that in a Velocity article posted yesterday).

I have not been able to confirm that. I think they are waiting to see what happens with Thunder Alley.

Regardless, all city projects are required to spend 1% of their total budget on public art, so something big will go there.

Scissortail was approved for PPP (not a judgement, just an FYI). I was a little surprised by this one since MBG foundation also did and I thought it was the entity managing both parks.

There are two different foundations for each park with different staff, but they share the same CEO.

Love how green it looks after all the rain this past weekend. In about 8-10 years, it'll look like a completely different park with more mature trees and lush vegetation like the renderings suggest:

I had high hopes when I saw the way they lined the lake and read about the filtration system but I love the way that it’s such a pretty shade of blue....

How many millions of dollars would it take to convert the Oklahoma River downtown portion where it is currently dammed into a fully swimmable and filtered river/lake. Having the river be used for recreation and connecting it to the Bricktown Canal is a pipedream of mine.

    Half a billion?

A lot of the aquatic plants that were intended to be used as part of the filtration system never took root or died. This caused an algae bloom. They then added a dye to color the water to create that color as well as to prevent algae. If you see photos from May or early June, you will see the color is a muddy brown.
