119 new case and 5 new deaths and the pop up and redirects are back.
This explains some things, but isn't good news.

This is not a credible source.
We do not have a science problem, we have a science/media illiteracy problem... and your post shows a misunderstanding of what scientists have said and what science is. Scientists and epidemiologists have actually been very careful, measured, and accurate—as they always are—about COVID-19. Scientists almost always offer very measured claims that qualify limitations and consider alternatives. That's why most studies end with something along the lines of "more research is needed." Few scientific studies can give simple answers to complex problems.
Most people that think experts haven't done a good job have been reading and sharing uncredible sources spreading misinformation. I've been carefully following experts this entire pandemic and their advice has been really consistent and helpful.
I will note that the CDC and WHO have both made some mistakes in their messaging around masks and not clearly explaining scientific lingo to the general public.
It's still a disease you don't want to take a chance getting since you don't know how your body will respond to it. If you're older, you especially don't want to take a chance with it. In Oklahoma, 80.5% of the deaths due to COVID-19 happened to those age 65 or over. That there still isn't a well established treatment for it or a vaccine are more reasons you don't want to take a chance getting it.
And people are still not wanting to social distance at stores, they say they don't have the time for it and just walk right up to you. Or in one case, a man pulled my shopping cart out of my hand to get to an item as I was getting someting off the shelf. I'm older over 60. It seems all I do when shopping is asking people to please respect social distancing and they just laugh at me. What is an older lady to do? I live alone, no neighbors to help and out in the country. Curb side service is fine sometimes but sometimes you have to look at something to see what you need to fix something and have to go in the store. Lowe's seems the worst about people not social distancing. Wont even go into the guy with the dog jumping on people and running around on a long long leash. (lucky I was a ways away, people thought that was cute, well until the dog knocks someone down)
People can be jerks. It's sad. Shop online. Use curbside pickup. We're doing as much of that as possible. Yesterday I went inside the first building I've been in since early April. Hibdon, to rotate tires and take care of a flat on tires they sold me. I was the only one wearing a mask. They did have a barrier up to keep people 6 feet from their counter workers.
Realize not OKC but is Oklahoma
OSU football player test positive
Ogbongbemiga said he tested positive after attending the protest against police brutality toward people of color.
“After attending a protest in Tulsa AND being well protective of myself, I have tested positive for COVID-19,” Ogbongbemiga said in his tweet. “Please, if you are going to protest, take care of yourself and stay safe.”
https://www.tulsaworld.com/sports/co...272ba90ef.html
rumor is 5 players have tested positive.
That seems to be a pretty quick turnaround. I thought it usually takes two weeks for the virus to be detectable after exposure? Or has testing improved recently?
When did he take the test? I know people still waiting over a week now for results. Was he showing symptoms or did he decide to get tested on his own. Either way that would be a real quick turn around from the protest to getting it to testing positive. Maybe it was a rapid test?
113 new cases. Two days over 100. I wish we could get more details on when the test we're done. How long is the backlog 10 days 2 weeks? Are these possible Memorial Day Weekend people?
A family member was tested on May 18 at a drive-through site in OKC. She just received her negative results yesterday. Seems like a long turnaround to me.
Depends on the testing and the site I guess (as well as prioritizing). My son got tested this morning before his MRI tomorrow. They'll have the results before 1pm tomorrow.
Sounds like 3 out of 150. Not shocked by that at all. I have a feeling the NBA is going to see the same results. People have it and just don't know they have it. I wonder of the 3 that tested positive if they had any symptoms at all.
If you tested 150 workers say at a Wal-mart I bet you would get a few back positive.
All 3 showed no symptoms. And OSU, like I’m sure all the schools and pro leagues have a plan in place for when the expected positives happen. That’s one big difference between March and now. Back then positives were met with, not panic, but closer to that than calm control. Now positives are dealt with much more calmly.
And yes. It’s everywhere. Now that we have everyone back at the office I’m sure there would be at least one positive, asymptomatic result if we tested everyone.
102 new cases today. So now three days in a row? On another note how is the mask wearing going. I don't get out much so I can't say are less people wearing them everyday or is it about the same
I haven't gotten out much, but I went to visit my barber today for the first time in over 3 months. She owns her own shop and her clientele is mostly men over 65. She wasn't wearing a mask which I thought was against the current restrictions for barbers. I left and went to a SportsClips and all of their stylists were wearing masks.
I won't go to places that don't wear masks because it tells me that they don't care about their customers health.
Totally agree with the last sentence. Hopefully you told her why you left (some people don't like confrontation and will just leave a restaurant, etc. and not tell a manager/supervisor/et al why their experience was subpar, but that doesn't let the establishment know what the problem is, hence they can't/won't fix it). Here are the guidelines for salons, etc., they're pretty watered down and don't mean much ("... consider using personal protective
equipment such as gloves or face masks if the customer requests.").
