I'm still curious about the 50/50 paint scheme.

They tweaked their design (top); previous version below.
I like the newer (top) version much better. Flows better visually.
The other one was giving my OCD a nice twitch.
Sorry if this was already asked, but does are they also renovating the top floors for leasing while they're at it? Just wondering about those windows...
Makes a lot more sense than the first iteration.
Love the revision! Looks a lot better than what we'd seen previously.
They are owned by Emerging Brands.
Does anyone have an idea of when they plan to open?
I just drove by and noticed they have a now hiring sign out front but the old Brix signage is still on the building.
They still plan on having their soft opening this Friday. Could have sworn I posted something similar in this thread but it's gone..

How can they have a soft opening if their design is not approved and if the Brix signage is still up (presume it is from the weekend)?
A banner..?
I guess that's true, but what about the design? Are they going to soft open, then close for re-design, the re-open?
I'm saying they can soft open with a banner over the Brix sign, then work out facade/sign design issues and do installation during a slow day/time in the near future. If the interior is ready to go they can be open for business. Not optimal, but possible.
OH.....
okay, I was thinking design included the interior, as in they didn't have permission to proceed with interior redesign... sorry for the confusion on my part.
Yeah, interior renovations are not within the purview of BUDC. About the only time you will see an outside agency exert influence over interior design items in a renovation is when the owner is utilizing historic preservation tax credits, in which case the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) has say so. The Skirvin renovation was an example. The distressed historic tile in the lobby and the stenciled graphics near the elevator bank (among other things) were preserved because of this process. Otherwise, you can do pretty much anything you want with the interior of a building, as long as it meets building codes for electrical, fire, etc..
I think I'm confusing the design approval with the building permit process
Gotcha
Pool tables and smoking section??
