Large dance halls of the 70's and early 80's were The Sooner Broadcast System, After the Gold Rush. Country joints were for drinking. Never heard a country song that I could dance too. Line Dancing? If I am going to dance in unison with people I want a contract and pay!!!!

Then you never went to Graham's then it was Markley's then back to Grahams, or slow danced to Conway's Hello Darlin, or waltzed to Could I have this Dance by Anne Murray. OR...........the southside shuffle..

Tried to go to Grahams once. They would not let me in because I was wearing tennis shoes. Went to Sheplers and bought a pair of spurs........They let me in no charge.

Actually! When in the 70's and early 80's shoulder length hair did not fare well in cowboy (God! I hate that word; Dallas and lOSUr) places. Besides, the country I was listening to was seldom if ever played in enlarged barns.

Really getting back there, Jack's Steak House at 58th and S. Penn. Jack Cornelius Sr. had the best home made salad dressing ever! Great place!

    The White Boy's Anthem

    (Dancin' Fool)

    Don't know much about dancin'
That's why I got this song
One of my legs is shorter than the other
'N' both my feet's too long
'Course now right along with 'em
    I got no natural rhythm
But I go dancin' every night
Hopin' one day I might get it right
    I'm a dancin'fool, I'm a
    Dancin' fool
I hear that beat; I jump outa my seat
    But I can't compete, cause I'm a
    Dancin' fool, I'm a
    Dancin' fool

The disco folks all dressed up
    Like they's fit to kill
I walk on in 'n' see 'em there
Gonna give them all a thrill
    When they see me comin'
    They all steps aside
They has a fit while I commit
    My social suicide,

    I'm a Dancin' fool,
    I'm a Dancin' fool
    The beat goes on
    And I'm so wrong
    The beat goes on
    And I'm so wrong
The beat goes on'n'I'm so wrong
The beat goes on 'n' I'm so wrong
The beat goes on 'n' I'm so wrong
I may be totally wrong, but I'm a
    Dancin'fool, I'm a
    Dancin' fool

    Yowsa, yowsa, yowsa

I got it all together now
With my very own disco clothes, hey!
My shirt's half open, t'show you my chains
'N' the spoon for up my nose
    I am really somethin'
    That's what you'd prob'ly say
    So smoke your little smoke
    Drink your little drink
While I dance the night away, I'm a
    Dancin'fool, I'm a
    Dancin'fool, efc., etc.

I may be totally wrong but I'm a
I may be totally wrong but I'm a
    I may be totally wrong but I'm a FOOL-uh!

Hey, darlin'... can I buyya a drink?
    Lookin' for Mister Goodbar?
Here he is... Wait a minute...
I've got it... you're an Italian! Hah?
    Yer Jewish?
Love your nails ... you must be a Libra... Your place or mine?

I believe it was 1964 when the Beatles first appeared on Ed Sullivan!! February was the month. Well, in December of 1963 before they released this song they held my wife's hand all the way thru rehearsal, I believe it was called "I want to Hold your Hand." Then they saw me and started singing "Love love me do" etc. etc. it sure was a neat experience Gen/64!!!!!! LMAO Your eyes are brown from what did you say?

I miss Dirty John's South that was on S.W. 89th near Shields. It was a bar before Dirty Johns (Can't remember the name) and later became Hobby Lobby.

Not sorely missed, but, Filthy McNasty's. Later it became the Jail, or vice
versa. It was a great place for the police to round up 90% of all under age
    drinkers in one stop.

That's what I was told, ahem...

Yeah, if I hadn't wasted time looking for a lost stash bag I would have been rounded up (While it was the White Light) I was NOT, however, underaged.

I went to that place alot under two of those names. There was also a Jail West out on Council (not sure of location) that I went to.

Cactus Jack's is where the Jail West used to be. It's about N.W. 11th & N.
Council on the west side of the street. Jack's is a teenager hangout. Video
    games and the like.

It was the Sooner Broadcast System as well was it not?

There was also a bar on N.W. 23 and Penn. Sat on the east side of Penn and around the corner of 23rd. I mean right around the corner. Lot's of youngsters there and as far as I know the police never came in. I had altered my draft card. Worked as far as getting into places but I'm not sure if the PD would have bought it.

I believe that was the Brass Keg. It was next door to Robert's Restaurant.
