Actually the opposite. I actually asked Sean Trauschke this exact question.

His answer was there aren't a lot of huge companies in okc that can fill a building. Rather then help fill out a building they want to help jumpstart a larger development. The stage center towers were supposed to do this but with oil crashing and Clayco not really knowing the local landscape it fell through. Instead of moving into BOK, they are waiting for the economy to start growing at a decent clip again.

Too long didn't read version- They only have one bullet in the gun, they are going to make it worthwhile.

Hopefully they come back to their plans for the Stage Center site once oil prices recover and this time work with a developer who won't demand such a massive TIF (if I remember correctly, it was ultimately the TIF request that killed the Stage Center Tower deal).

That was clayco that demanded the TIF and I clearly said OGE didn't expect clayco to be so clueless with the local political landscape.

OGE doesn't really get to drive the process but they sorta drive it. All they can do is tell a developer if you build a building X high we will operate X floors at X rate. That helps the economics of the building start to look better. Problem is when oil crashed they couldnt lease the other parts of the building and the luxury condo market was surely dead as well. So for now they're standing pat.

This tower enhances the skyline more than I originally thought it would.

According to the City of OKC's Streetcar Construction News page, the construction crane will be coming down within the next week:

EDIT: I don't know why but the upload tool keeps resizing the picture, and there doesn't appear to be a way to stop it from doing it. :/

Is the BOK sign not erected by crane?

The will likely use the building maintenance unit that is a small crane mounted to the roof that is used for window washing and other maintenance.

By late afternoon on Sunday, the crane is now almost halfway down.

It's just the collision lights, not anything to do with the lighting features...

I just got back from Seattle. This building looks very similar to the new Amazon HQ building. It's a little taller (38 floors) but they are stylistic twins.

Edit -And the daughter in law works in the new Amazon building.

Last night, I noticed another big crane in the middle of Hudson.

Today, I see the crane's big horizontal section is now down.

I bet the rest of it is pretty much gone by tomorrow.

    I bet soon.

They'll want to start testing and programming.

People should start moving in by the end of the year.
