A little off topic, but I remember my mom bought a Cadillac at a dealership downtown in the mid '80s. But it was in the CBD and not on AA. I don't remember the dealer though.

Bob Moore Cadillac was at 400 N. Walker.

I've been thinking about the Mercedes Dealership site. I think that would be a great space for a downtown grocery store. With its size, abundance of parking, location, and proximity to a street car stop, It's the perfect compromise to accommodate downtown residents as well as people who would need to drive in. It maintains a person's ability to drive to the store and park yet is close enough to the streetcar stop at 11th and broadway for that to be a viable mode. It's still downtown and connected to midtown and AA, yet is close to two highway on ramps. This location could even spur streetcar ridership if people are allowed to, for example, park at the store, ride to bricktown for dinner and ride back to do their shopping.

I second this. It would be a perfect location.

Damn good thoughts, Ross! I agree.

Yeah, that's probably what it was.

I would imagine these lots being available might push transactions/development on the empty lots on both sides of Broadway to the north, too.

Has anyone heard if they will be putting up the Thunder banners this year?

Haven't seen them on the Buick building or others on Broadway, but I would bet we will see them before Sunday.

I realize that and I've seen the ones in Bricktown and at Midfirst HQ. I meant in Auto Alley. They are usually some of the first ones up. Hope they get put up!

Not sure how long they've been working on it, but I saw a construction fence up on the new building on Broadway and ~11th this morning.

I walked by Rawhide Ranch yesterday and saw they have posted a sign up indicating they were closing their store.

They are primarily an online business model. They just decided to not renew at the end of their lease to focus on re-focus exclusively on online sales, which they were doing very successfully way before brick and mortar. Since everyone knew they were not renewing there is already a tenant lined up for the space.

Good news. Do you know who the new vendor will be?

Yes, definitely good news. I don't know if there has been any sort of official announcement, so it would not be my place to say. But the space won't be empty long.

I heard they were gonna tear the building down and put up a parking garage. Gonna keep the awesome rawhide neon sign up though!!

As I was on 8th street checking out the new Prairie space today, I was thinking about how 9th street was kind of the hot new spot in OKC 7-8 years ago. I remember there being discussions about more development on the street, but surprisingly, none of those empty buildings or lots have been developed unless I missed something. It's a great little street, but it could use a new project to add some excitement and activity. I've always thought the street would be a wonderful place for dense mixed-use resiential as there's already kind of a neighborhood feel with the businesses on the street. Any ideas why there's been nothing done here in so long?
