    Default Property Line dispute question

If a property line dispute between 2 landowners in Oklahoma County arises and eventually ends up in court, what is the deciding entity for where that line lies?

The plat for the land should show where the physical/legal boundaries of the property exist, and a formal survey should translate the paper description into something tangible with stakes/markers, etc.

If you haven't had a survey done on the land, you'll need to hire a surveyor to get it done. If it goes to court to resolve the dispute, eg the other party has their own survey that says something different, the court may order their own to determine which lines win.

The deciding entity would be the District Court for Oklahoma County, with Oklahoma appeals courts exercising appellate jurisdiction.

There's also a thing called Adverse Possession, where party A's property line is really over on party B's property, and party B has been taking care of it for a number of years, undisputed by party A. Then party B can lay claim to the piece they have been taking care of using Adverse Possession laws, with the court rendering final decission.
