Not sure if anyone got into these but even as scripted as they were, I liked the ones like Operation Repo and South Beach Towing.

I wish there was a show based in OKC (not a reality show) that wasn't about hillbilly`s or dumb@ss rich people.

Reminder that Sweet Home Oklahoma premiers tonight on Bravo at 9pm.

So, what's the scoop? Did anyone watch it last night? How much of a trainwreck was the show - or was it actually somewhat good?

You can watch in on-line at the link below.

They go to Powerhouse and generally act like all narcissistic realty show stars, where they are over the top in every way possible in the aid of appearing more interesting than they are.

BTW, I'm not a fan of reality TV (to put it nicely) but even in that world I'm having a hard time seeing the appeal of this show.

What is the angle here? Middle aged housewives griping about their kids and exes? Hasn't this been done a thousand times and with far more interesting people?

I suspect the angle is going to be "wild liberals in an alt-right world" but of course these people would only be viewed as strong lefties in Oklahoma and not to the large majority of people tuning in from everywhere else.

I know these channels are in desperate need for content and that reality shows like this are super cheap to make, I just don't see how anyone is going to care, other those of us in OKC who tune in to see how our city is portrayed. And I don't even think that will hold interest for very long.

Definitely agree here. I watched the first ten minute preview and even considering it is crappy reality TV this was uninteresting -- and I was at least excited to see familiar OKC sites. I found the women quite obnoxious, not a good a great reflection of folks here, and I had zero reason to be interested in their lives. (The NonDoc review of it noted that they really are progressives because one of them was an actual Hillary Clinton fan... imagine that!). I don't see this show succeeding, but what do I know...

I caught the last 15-20 minutes of the second episode last night. I think the JohnTV YouTube videos about prostitution in OKC are more worthwhile than this show.

'Sweet Home Oklahoma' appears to be akin to the same reality series as Real Housewives of: Beverly Hills, New York City & Atlanta. Not my cup of tea.

Several glimpses of the OKC Skyline, Oklahoma River, Nichols Hills etc.

Great escape form the SyFy channel.

It looks like the all the other housewives shows, except all the women are single moms (one is sort of married). I had friends from out of state watch it....The good: they show Nichols Hills and Midtown and not the tumble weed laden prairie that most people think Oklahoma is. They show several high end areas that are wooded...not the farms and flat land. The women are obviously well off...(traditional Bravo housewives style) but seem a bit more grounded. The bad: They randomly select "street" oklahomans to answer random questions....like "what do you do for exercise in oklahoma?" They show two very large people with very thick accents and they say something akin to "well, we go out and shoot guns." (eyeroll).... Its a train wreck like all of those shows....that you cant help but watch for mindless time filling.

Couldn't even get through one episode of it - just plain nasty, disgusting people (absolutely nobody needs to see dog turds on someone's carpet, as one example, and not sure if that was the same dog that was labelled as a "service dog", which it obviously isn't, she's just using that as a BS excuse to take it wherever she wants). I predict it'll run for a long time...

They exercise their second amendment rights!! lol that was the only redeeming part of the show! I would much rather watch a show with only the "street people" (not sure why that was in a negative context) than these ladies who really have nothing interesting to say. I liked seeing OKC on TV but this show is painfully boring.

I thought it was hilarious. I suspect the majority of comments here don't come from the Bravo demographic.

They seem to be smart ladies, and are kind to one another which is a refreshing change for Bravo. They say they love to live in OKC and would not live anywhere else. I don't feel like they are making fun of OK. The "man on the street" stuff is stereotype but funny and hey, they probably didn't have to work too hard to find it!

    Which is what?

    Honestly curious.

If anything, OKC can add this to its resume.
There are many people who believe there's no such thing as bad publicity. Some people may want to visit OKC after seeing this show, who knows?

    From Wikipedia:

A study released in May 2008 ranked Bravo as the most recognizable brand among gay consumers.
I suppose this is the demographic they are going for.

You can't blame all that on the Gays Pete!!..lol
I know Bravo probably does have a huge Gay demographic as most shows are produced and created by Andy Cohen. But it seems most the people I ever hear talk about the housewife series and other Bravo reality shows are women. I know when I worked in the office it seemed all the women would talk about Bravo shows or big brother all the time.

I'm scared to say it, but I actually enjoyed it. But then again, I love all reality tv. It's a guilty pleasure of mine.

They seem like smart and funny ladies... Parts of it seemed scripted like the step counter on the dog (maybe not), but for the most part it was just your typical reality show garbage that I live for.

I'm interested to see if the druggie dad starts to practice law again.

Nichols Hills can add it their resume.

I liked it. This might sound odd, but I enjoyed the vulgar nature of the show. OKC needs more of that. Not as much as LA, but I use a lot of profanity and tend to be more crude and I'd like to see more of that in OKC. Perhaps it's weird, but I see it as more of a big city thing.
