This place should host viewing parties for "The Americans." I would be there every week.

Hey okctalk, Hailey and I will be out front of the bunker talking to people and showing the space during the Jabee show at the Tower tonight. It's still a construction site so the door stays shut but there's still plenty to see. We plan on opening in a couple of weeks. So many little details/features and most of the work is self performed.

Yeah, by the look, I'd just sit in one of those bar seats for a few hours, drink or not, they look more comfortable than my office chair, lol.

What is the food situation going to be at the place, I remember something about it, but i dont recall what that memory was about.?

When I was a kid we used to buy MRE's from the army surplus store when we'd go camping in the woods, most people probably don't know what those are like, but I thought it'd be funny if they had those in like a vending machine.

The chairs are great. They come from this ancient manufacturer in Chicago that has always made them. Ultimately we plan to have a small setup to quick-serve coney dogs, steamed bun, natural case wiener, all meat chili, cheese, sweet onions, mustard or ketchup optional, paper towels, that's it! from steam wells in paper boats. As well as host a luxurious sidewalk patio that will accommodate the smoking crowd. But the latter are immediate phase 2 items as I am just focusing on construction completion in order to fulfil my licenses and get open at this point. And we know that each human can only eat so many hot dogs in a calendar year so we are welcoming carry-in. And we'll have 2 restaurant neighbors in the tower now with a deal inked on a Deli going into another retail frontage of The Tower.

Btw I too, was an army surplus camper kid. I drew some inspiration for the bunker from those experiences. But I DO NOT have fond memories of eating MREs lol, those things were so gross and probably left over from Vietnam. The cool part was the little personal kit with the toilet paper, matches, the tiniest Tabasco bottle, and heating them up with mind blowing power of science! Which turned out to be magnesium powder, iron filings, and table salt.
