When I left work the road was blocked by police cars and a couple fire trucks going with lights but no sirens. Then I heard on the radio about a shooting at WRWA.

They are currently looking for the suspect. He is thought to be a disgruntled employee. One confirmed victim, unknown status. Potential second victim.
KOCO just said the deceased victim is Michael Winchester, 52. When my dad was in St Anthony ICU 35ish years ago another of the other little ng term patients had the same name and would have been about that age. I wonder?
It's being reported that he was a punter for OU's '85 championship team and his son more recently was a long snapper for OU and now is in the NFL.
I forgot about the punter for OU. But then I have trouble with what I had for lunch last week. So I knew of two Mike Winchesters. This story is so sad.
I actually met Mike Winchester as a freshman at OU back in '82. We were both in a computer lab, and started shooting the breeze a bit. In the course of the conversation, he told me he was going to walk on to the football team as a punter, and he did exactly that.
Tragic doesn't begin to describe this.
No it doesn't. And the shooter killed him self so we might never know why. Very, very sad.
I read online somewhere this afternoon that the suspect had recently been fired from SWA for showing upto work drunk. It doesn't seem much of a stretch to think that is the reason for this tragic act.
I got out yesterday just in time. Some of our aircraft mechanics that leave at three only got out because we're a law enforcement agency and our officers escorted them past the OCKPD. A couple of guys couldn't go on time and were stuck here until almost 7. Not a big deal next to a shooting but not something I would ever see happening.
My mother in law worked for Delta forever and Michael was a friend. It's weird.
