There is a Travelodge on Blackwelder and NW Expressway that has a fence around it. Assessor site shows it was sold to Oncue this month. Assuming a gas station is going in there?

OnCue Express continues its aggressive expansion and has purchased yet another site in Oklahoma City.
The Stillwater-based company recently closed on a $3.2 million deal to buy the Travelodge motel at NW Expressway and Blackwelder, very near Penn Square Mall.
As we covered in an article last year, OnCue continues to step into the void left by a gentleman's agreement between the local owners of 7 Eleven and QuikTrip that keeps the Tulsa company from opening its elaborate convenience stores in Central Oklahoma.
As OnCue has started to fill this niche, 7 Eleven is now opening larger, more expansive stores of its own.
The motel was built in 1960 and has operated under various hotel flags throughout its existence.
Still hope they do something on Classen; between 23rd & 30th would be perfect.
Pete, your map is missing the OnCue being built at 23rd and Douglas... Where the Golden Goose Flea Market (Was a TG&Y originally) was located.
I had also left off the I-240 and May location.
Updated now.
I would have loved to have one by the Airport Rental Car center on Meridian when I worked there. Would have been perfect.
Oncue is not messing around! This is a perfect location to open a flagship-type store. It's such a busy intersection and the mall is right there.
I love OnCue. I try my best to use them exclusively.
This kind of bums me out. That Trevelodge was the cheapest decent motel in the metro. I often had family stay there. Not a high-end hotel but clean, large suites for like $50-80 bucks a night. I had some relatives rent a suite for a week and it was a steal. Had a full kitchen in their room and everything. Surprisingly not shady or dirty for the price point.
you have had better luck than me. My insurance put me up there when we had a house fire 6 years ago ( granted that was a while ago ). I made them move us after two nights due to constant loitering and drug deals outside my door in parking lot. the room was very large but not in good shape. Perhaps they did a good remodel after that and cleaned up a bit but when I saw this story I was like. GOOD knock that place down!
I'm a little bummed too for sentimental reasons.
When I was a kid in the mid-60's, my dad used to take me to the barber that was located in this hotel.
It was set back in the complex; have been trying to remember the name of the hotel back then.
Also, with apologies being "that guy," you have the OnCue in Edmond at 15th and Kelly when it should be one mile south at 33rd/150th.
And the one just to the east should be move to the north/northwest where the top tip of the star should be touching the M in Edmond.
I photo of this hotel when it first opened as the DeVille (from okcmod.com):
The map is also missing the recently approved location in Edmond at I-35 and 15th Street.

This proposed OnCue Express location is ideal for my future trips to fill up right before I head over to Trader Joe's and fill up again.
Think how busy this will be if the guy buying all the houses just east gets a shopping center built
^Who are you talking about?
Couldn't find Pete's original link but here is one talking about it. http://www.okctalk.com/showthread.ph...ht=blackwelder
Oh thank you! I live at 42nd and Blackwelder and this news to me.
It seems like a pretty high price tag for a piece of land for a gas station. I wonder what the expected ROI on that site is....i bet it's pretty long. But you know what, i actually like it more if it's long. That's something we lack a lot of these days is companies committed to LONG term ROI instead of this short-term sell it off crap. I wish we had more developers that thought this way.
Since they now have a lot of locations open and raking in money, they are probably in a better position to take a longer payback on new sites.
It also demonstrates how much business their stores are doing.
I stopped by the one in Norman (on Highway 77 north of Robinson) in the middle of a weekday and every single one of the pumps were occupied and almost every parking space taken. All their locations seem quite busy almost any time you go.
And good for them as they do a great job and provide something OKC desperately needed.
