How cool would that be as a rooftop bar???
<sigh>
OKC has a really weird lack of developers wanting to do rooftop setups. Which is really strange, considering how well places with patios do here.
^
But there have been a whole recent rash:
Packard's
Guyutes
Above Rawhide
Above Plenty
OKC Museum of Art
Cafe do Brasil
O Bar
And to come: Cultivar and Yuzo.
Isn't Pump Bar also adding one?
It seems like in the last year or two is when the thought finally popped up, like "oh yea! We do have a cool rofftop to make money off of."
You may be thinking of the little raised deck being done at Power House.
Yes, I have no idea why I said pump... Haha
To me 21c could also do a rooftop bar on the WEST side of that rooftop structure. There is tons of space, and a door that opens directly to it. The only problem is that the service elevator that runs from the rooftop to the kitchen on the first floor is on the east side, actually inside one of the hotel rooms.
We bicycled over there last Friday night and had drinks. It was great, and what a nice view you get of the skyline. Our only complaint (and we realize this is probably for security reasons, at least until the area is more populated) was that there is a door directly to the patio from the outside, but it was locked. We had to go all the way around to the restaurant entrance, then walk through everyone who was inside eating (and we were in our grubby exercise clothes) to get there. It was kind of embarrassing. The really bad part was that a cocktail waitress working the patio told us we had to go through the inside, when all she had to do was open the door to let us in (it's only locked from the outside). She knew we were coming there for drinks. Anyway, it's a cool space.
They are offering 40% of best room rates to locals for 'staycations':
http://www.21cmuseumhotels.com/oklah...te-okc-locals/
Sweet! Does that include the penthouse suite? And do you have any idea how much that rents for per night?
Thanks. Just bought a Christmas gift! The lowest rate is $119+taxes, fees, and brings it $135.
They just published a really cool video on OKC on their Facebook page:

yep, only MGB and the zoo is missing. ... maybe the asian district and capital hill should be included later.
Oklahoma City, the RENAISSANCE CITY!
Does anyone know if they are still doing the 40% off for locals deal? Or does someone remember the code so I can check?
Looking forward to staying here Friday night and seeing it for the first time.
I enjoyed a quick stay this past weekend, it's definitely a very unique hotel experience! It reminded me of W Hotel'S I've stayed at in other cities. Loved the high ceilings and big windows. Only downsides were I had a west-facing room (no view) and the walk between the hotel and CBD is pretty desolate and feels further than it actually is. The area has a lot of room to grow but currently is not the most convenient for going places downtown unless you take an Uber/lyft.
once those are done it will really transform that area. I look forward to seeing that complete!
"West Village", interesting name.
