Could they have made the target any broader why not blame TV evagelist why they are at it .

I read some of the statements made by his family. This kid had psychological problems from childhood. He never wanted to make friends and only spoke when he was spoken to. He never made the effort to develop the social skills most people develop through childhood and their teenage years.

If anything this should be a wake up call to every parent. If your kid is not making the effort to make friends and have a social life you need to step in. If you cannot break through to them and help them, then you need to seek help though the mental health community.

The only thing we can blame is the lack of action from his parents and his fellow students. Someone should have stepped up a long time ago and got this kid some help.

Banning guns, blaming everything sun is not going to help. We need teach people what behaviors to look for and who to notify for help.

Probably be a lot more shootings if schools were ran like they would like them to be...People would snap more if they had to listen or learn all the bs they are throwing around

The problem with modern church these days is that they still rely on the old teaching of put fear in people's hearts until they will do what they want you to do.

They need to come across with a more conventional approach. If something is bad, explain it do not just say the bible forbids it.

If the Religious Right want people to belive in their theories they need to start by cleaning up their own houses.

The first step I would take is eliminating the for profit preacher. In my eyes men of the cloth should live the same standard of life your average citizen lives. No BMW's, stretch limos, mansions, or multimillion dollar salaries.

The second would be to rid the church empire of the multimillion dollar facilities. Religion should be taught in modest facilities. Not facilities that rival the Ford Center.

At great risk of sounding prideful, my church, Edmonds First Baptist, does just that. This tragedy has it's roots in lack of involvement! Parents might have given up, peers/teachers afraid of offending, all sorts of areas where I blame lack of involvement.
UInfortunately, many (have to be careful not to generalize) in our society prefer to have any event that makes the national news fit thier agenda. With just a little bit of effort you can present data that ties this to immigration, gun control, or even abortion. About the only safe topic has already been mentioned. This was not caused by global warming.
