And there are actually a fair number of condo options downtown now: The Hill, the Civic, Dwellings at SoSA, Lisbon Lofts (still one unit for sale), etc.
But the main reason developers don't build more condos is they want to hold onto the property due to rapidly escalating property values. Why sell when you can invest and hold?
Midtown Renaissance is an example of a developer who has pretty much said they will never build for-sale units and I've heard other say the same thing.
