Thread: 2015-16 OKC Thunder

  1. Default Re: 2015-16 OKC Thunder

Not the end of the world because it's not the playoffs. D was much better and this is the second time we have taken them down to the wire. Curry had to take circus shots to beat us and our MVP fouled out...which never happens. A bit of faith restored after a ROUGH start to the second "half" of the season this last week. Take what you can from it and move on. Bring on the Sacramento Queens.

Well Cleveland's drought of not having a championship will finally end. Well in 65 years, Oklahoma City may bring a championship but not a NBA title. A World Series perhaps??? It kooks like the Jacksonville Jaguars to win 4 Super Bowls before the Thunder ever reach the Conference Finals again.

Wow, wow, wow. This post says so much without really saying it. Why is OKC fine for Boeing? GE? Why aren't they disliking the "quiet, suburban type city?" You don't think paying these players millions is enough to play in Bugtussle if necessary? No, because what you are saying without really getting to the nitty gritty is that the NBA is full of thug culture and thug (mostly black) culture requires thug clubs, thug friends, thug values, etc. Why not say it? That's what you mean! And, the sad part is, you're probably right. But what does that reflect on, Oklahoma City or any NBA player that wouldn't come here because the city hasn't been run over by a big ghetto for them to play in on their off time?

I might be called the racist for this, but in actuality, your post was the racist post because you spoke in "code" saying Oklahoma City isn't urban and thuggy enough for this generation of out-of-control NBA players. No, you didn't mention race - but your meaning was clear. I'd rather have Oklahoma City as it is than an Oklahoma City made-to-order for the NBA culture.. As much fun as Thunder basketball is, I always wondered if it would be a good fit because of the above. In other words, maybe you're right and at least you're honest. But it's not a problem for Boeing or GE, just entitled spoiled kids paid millions to play what they learned on inner city playgrounds.

You have no idea how much your post said about the reality of life in today's NBA.

Maybe I'm missing some context that you have, but I don't see anything inherent in dcsooner's post that could only be referring to "thug life" or whatever. There are multiple ways to interpret his post without injecting race or stereotypes. From my perspective here, you're bringing more to his post than is inherently there.

Come on now, two of my favorite posters, let's stop the madness--reading hidden messages into each others posts.

Oklahoma City is OKC and Oklahoma is OK.

Who knows why a player selects one city over another or one organization over another? There were 5 or 6 NBA teams courting Joe Johnson. Could be one of a number among a dozen of reasons.

Oklahoma City is on the right track; we're not Dallas, Denver or Miami. The best for OUR city is yet to come...

Derek Fisher had no problem with OKC the place, twice. The reason Johnson went to Miami is the fact they only have about 9 or 10 players that are playing due to injuries.

I think he meant more in the sense how Pau passed on OKC for the culture and life in Chicago. You really went off the deep end on that one.

Tonight was probably the Thunder's best team game this season. Without the excessive turnovers, this was never a game.

Kings really shot themselves in the foot with those technicals. In addition to the obvious points, it took away momentum. Boogie was tearing up the centers. Granted, Westbrook was shredding the defense in general.

    Salute!

Westwolf, a true beast. Watch out for the killer wolfsbane.

Wolfsbane kills quickly (within six hours of consumption) and the symptoms are almost immediate: vomiting and diarrhea, followed by a sensation of burning
...sounds similar to what DeMarcus Cousins went through

In the 15-second spot from Jumpman, Russ's hype kid goes through a few possibilities (Russ Ruckus, The Human Turbo Button, The Big Bang, The Minister of Menace) before settling on The Westwolf, complete with a primal howl.

As usual, both Durant and Westbrook played a starring role. Durant scored 27 points and Westbrook had a triple-double with 20 points, 15 rebounds and 13 assists to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder over the Sacramento Kings 131-116 on Monday night.

Big game tonight (and obviously tomorrow). But the Clippers are on the heel of OKC for the 3rd seed. This is important, because the 3rd seed will play winner of San Antonio/Portland in round 2 as opposed to Golden State. That is, if GSW and SAS maintain 1 and 2 seeds.

I don't know about you, but I would like as many rounds as possible between us and GSW if given the slim chance of someone knocking them out before the WCF.

Both these games are at 9:30pm central, so get your caffeine ready.

I'd rather play SAS. We have an awesome record against them when healthy.

Ray Charles is a better coach than Billy Donovan. First round exit and Durant and Westbrook will be playing in LA by 2017 while the 76ers will be more legit than the Thunder. But on a brighter note hopefully Patrick Beverly will tear his ACL and never play again. This franchise is cursed more than the Cubs or Browns.

Holy crap, that was by far the worst meltdown in Thunder history. 17 point lead evaporating in less than 5 minutes.

About time for a "players meeting"?

Just wonder how effective the Thunder would be with Monty Williams & Maurice Cheeks on the bench; the experience of two former head coaches can make a difference.

Hope both of Donovan's top assistants can return soon.
