I was wrong. It is unanimous in the AP. Not so in the coaches poll.
Oklahoma Sooners a unanimous No. 1 in AP Top 25 hoops poll

Hope these guys can handle being atop of the summit. Let's not get the big head.
It's not looking good for OU at the moment but life on the road in the Big 12 is rough. While it's nice to be number 1 overall, getting a number one seed in the tournament important also.
Hey, they're hanging tough. Got a lot of game to go.
I'd say that is ultimately much more important. OU can lose maybe 2 more and still get a 1 seed with their schedule and quality wins as long as they don't have any really bad losses.
KU and Iowa St on the road were the two toughest conference games. Already beat Iowa St and WVU at home and a road win at OSU. Still have to go to Baylor (this Sat), Texas (they are looking a lot better) and WVU, and also Tech and KState which are decent teams especially at home. And of course KU in Norman on Feb 13..
The Big 12: A REAL basketball conference.
OSU routs KU tonight in Stillwater and shows again what a tough league it is. This makes OU's recent win there much more impressive
I've said this before, but really the only bright spot for OSU is Jawun Evans. That kid will be a legit star in the future.
Good job and big win for osu. We are seeing more and more cracks in the KU armor exposed.
Did the win save Mr. Ford another year? I hope so
I don't see it. I think he is gone this year.
I disagree. I am not sure if there is an easy answer, but some players are ready for the NBA after one year of college. There is absolutely no reason that, for example, Kevin Durant should have been made to stay in college any further. He was clearly ready for the NBA and his family shouldn't have to wait additional years for that income. What college student wouldn't leave college early if they received a million dollar offer to pursue their profession of choice? I think what is best for players should be privileged over what is best for college basketball programs. Programs can adjust and many have done so.
I am not saying the current system is perfect, and you might be able to convice me why a two year commitment makes sense, but I can't see three years as making sense for a player like Ben Simmons.
Ford's contract: Oklahoma State basketball: Why Travis Ford's contract has been a burden for him and OSU | News OK
The OSU donors will let the Cowboys live with that contract until there is 3 years or less left.

Big XII wins challenge against SEC: 7 games to 3
[Road wins registered by Oklahoma & Oklahoma State.]
While that was a good performance by the Big 12, I'm a little disappointed that it wasn't better based on what has happened to this point in the season.
OU is number one in the AP poll for the 3rd week in a row.
Oklahoma basketball: Sooners remain No. 1 in AP poll | NewsOK.com
If they take care of business this week they will likely be an almost unanimous number one in both polls next week after North Carolina lost tonight to Louisville.
Who knows what will happen with next weeks ranking now. OU lost to K State today and North Carolina has lost 2 games in a row. OU easily defeated number 3 Villanova earlier this year. OU is still a solid number 1 seed, as of now, for the tournament and that is the most important issue.
A nail biter in the LNC last night. Buddy scored the last 12 points of the game as OU held the lead for less than 50 seconds of game time. @ bad games in a row, win one lose one. Woodard is in a slump but Buddy is putting the team on his back. Gameday Saturday is in Norman so hopefully we will see some rowdiness and boisterous fans show up. Go Sooners.
Sooners appeared to have righted the ship in Morgantown yesterday. A much needed
going away victory not decided in the last minute. Looking forward to "Bedlam" part deux on Wednesday.
There are 7.5 million reasons that spells continued employment for both.
Oh, for sure. There is no valid financial reason for getting rid of Ford. All the more reason Holder should be held accountable.
