The only time I went to Casanblanca, it was myself and my wife at one table, and Chief Citty and his wife (then City Auditor) at another. Quiet restaurant, good food, horrible location and marketing.

wasn't casablanca owned by a jimmys egg franchisee?
Ah gotcha, forgot about that little location behind Abuelos.
Where is this 'Casablanca' of which you speak?
I noticed this morning the old Marie Calendars in Norman is being converted to The Shack... I love their food.
I-35 on the west side between main and Lindsey next to the Chilis.
Had not heard that. Glad to see something going in there.
Anyone heard when the Norman location is going to open?
My wife and I have decided to get out of our dining rut and try places we haven't tried or haven't tried in a long tome.
We ate at the Norman Shack location last night. The good...place was not busy at 615 on Friday night. The bad.....we know why now it wasn't busy. The service was fairly good. Server didn't know the tap beers and didn't offer to get the drink menu which apparently they only have a few drink menus and they have to look to see which table they are on. However, she was attentive as far as refilling drinks and checking back. The food just wasn't any good. My daughter had the strip steak and it was cooked perfectly but was way overseasoned with salt. I like a lot of salt on my steak and it was too salty for my taste. The fried alligator and fried pickles had no flavor. My wife's etoufee was fishy. I had the gumbo and grilled stuff mushrooms. Gumbo bowl was huge and decent flavor but watered down. The stuffed mushrooms had no flavor. My other daughter had blackened chicken alfredo. Same deal that there wasn't really any flavor.
Decent menu selection but recipes/spices need retooling.
Sorry to hear you had a blah experience.
I keep hearing reports like yours, and so we keep leaving the place on the give it a while longer list.
Thinking back, I have yet to hear anyone sing its praises on high.
I am not sure it will ever make it off the wait and see list.
Yep, we've heard bad things about it too, on Yelp and elsewhere, and we ain't even trying 'em (they were on our quite long "to try" list for a while, but they're scratched off now) - for the prices they charge, it should have waaaaaaaaaaaaay better reviews. Trapper's is my go-to seafood place, but The Drake is very high on our "to try" list, and when Off The Hook opens their brick/mortar, we're going to try them too. Hopefully the new-ish seafood places will make The Shack up their game or get out of the game (but I doubt either will happen, sadly).
Just curious, a friend mentioned a restaurant called The Shack in Norman (now closed). Were they connected to The Shack in OKC?

Jeep,
Thank you sir!

Brent and the other partner of The Shack had a falling out several months back. Brent has since left and opened Brent's Cajun Seafood. The other partner still owns the existing Shack's. I am not sure if this has anything to do with the Norman location closing or not, but it wouldn't surprise me.
So where is Brent's?
Broadway in Edmond, west side just north of 33rd
Here is the Brent's Cajun website: http://www.brentscajunseafood.com/
Fun Fact: I created their logo for Brent back when I was at Sysco
