We're going undefeated, baby!
Yeah, stuff between fans has always existed and probably will. Bedlam usually isn't the proudest moment for both fan bases (I will say that I have seen OU fans intervene more than once when another OU fan was smack-talking a visiting Poke). But that behavior should stay in the stands. I'm just saying that when it makes its way to the field in the form of assaulting visiting players and staff, tripping, throwing objects, etc., it needs to be dealt with, and with a quickness. And NEVER defended by an administrator, sheesh. That was pretty shocking to read, honestly.
And I still say that a big part of the problem (when there is one) in Stillwater is the closeness of the stands to the field. It sortof begs for that type of confrontation, when heated rivals are playing, people are drunk, etc.. But since that is a known issue, it just seems like security would be on absolute lockdown, anticipating that behavior.
It probably contributes a bit to opposing player aggravation. In most places the bench is 10' or more from the stands, and the first row of spectator seats is only a couple of feet elevated. Heck, at Baylor the bench is probably 25' from the stands. In Stillwater the fans are only a couple of feet from players around the bench, and standing well above them, where the feel more protected from them. It's a lot more tempting to mouth off from the high ground, and due to the closeness, they can hear every word. I expect Boone Pickens is a pretty harrowing place to spend 60 minutes as a player. I'd probably keep my helmet on.
I saw this in response to situation....
Yes both fans have funs that yell things at the players during the game, but those are in the stands not on the field.
the last 2 times OU has played in Stillwater a person with access to the sideline has tried to trip an OU player. There just is no excuse for this behavior.
Also I feel sorry for reindeer anywhere near the vicinity of Stillwater. Wow that was worse than the tech guy ringing the bell.
Yeah, no doubt. It is a definite home-field advantage.

Yes there were some idiot comments by OU fans on twitter, but you have to seek those comments out. Tripping on the sidelines just embarrassing.
Too bad Boone wasn't there to watch
Gundy was yelling at Jenni Carlson because Jenni Carlson sucks.
I thought the guy with the reindeer thing was kind of funny until I saw this...

He didn't do either.
For the record, OSU fans/bloggers are also condemning the tripping attempt: Whoops... The Stillwater Trip Happened Again | Pistols Firing
I don't think I have seen ANYBODY defend it.
^^^^^^
Haha if you want to feel ashamed of some of the folks who share your affiliation - regardless of whether it is OU or OSU - read the comments in response to that Pistols Firing blog post.
Although I will say the dyslexic joke is an old one. "Only a sooner would abbreviate the University of Oklahoma as OU." It was funny when I was in School at OSU.
Bowl projections have OSU in the Russell Athletic Bowl (Orlando). TCU is listed in the Alamo and Baylor in the Sugar.
