Thread: Pops

Speaking of Pops, we dined there when it was new and the food was impressive enough. Recently we went again (I wanted one of those burgers for myself!) and the burger was uninspired with a big whitebread bun on a dinky patty. This time the fries were frozen crinkle-cut. Some say one thing or another is really good. Perhaps next time I have an out-of-town guest to entertain ...

It's a fun place to check out from time to time but I wouldn't want to be there during an earthquake or tornado!

I checked this out last night, and it is just fantastic. I had the Arcadia burger, the cheese fries (good but way too much for a single person), and a peanut butter cup shake, all of which were quite good, the burger especially.

I will definitely be going back.

Love the decor, retro yet modern and colorful.

This looks like it'd be a fun place for a kids' birthday party. I wonder if they rent it out for such things. I know a particular little girl about to turn 9 who would probably just squeal with delight if that could be done!

I'm meeting a friend for lunch here today around 2 or so. Is there a menu? I couldn't find whether or not they serve the same stuff as the other location.

Looks like there is a lot more room for dining there. I enjoy going to Arcadia, but it feels like there is always a long wait for seating.

There is a fairly small private room back by the restrooms with a flat screen TV on one that I bet is able to be reserved for parties, depending on how big a party you were planning.

Another fun thing for the kids (and actually I think they're fun too) is this automatic hand washer in the bathroom! Last place I saw one of these was on the Disney Dream cruise ship at the entrance/exit to the kids' play areas.

Thanks! I'll check it out. There are only so many venues for kids' birthdays, and it gets kind of stale after a while.

Too cool! Never seen such a thing.

Had breakfast. Love the French Toast. No waiting. I still enjoy Pops in Arcadia. I love getting some sodas and heading down 66 to Wellston and getting some Butcher BBQ. Good road trip.

    Had dinner there last night.

Enjoyed the chicken fried steak. Came out and looked a little underwhelming as it is somewhat thin but it was actually very good. Tender meat, tasty breading and great gravy.

I had their root beer on tap and holy cow that was good! Better than Coits IMO and that's saying something. All of their on-tap sodas are $2.19 with unlimited refills. You can also have any of a ton of syrups added to your drink. I can see just stopping in for a root beer and getting lots of refills.

Really a cool place with the soda fountain, huge amount of choices in terms of shakes, sundaes, etc. In fact, you can have an ice cream float made from any of their hundreds of soda flavors. And of course, they have walls lined with soda in bottles and a big candy section. Fantastic place to take kids.

One thing is that at night it is *bright*. It's mostly white with lots of bright primary colors but at nighttime the lumens are really turned up to almost sunglasses level. Makes the place look fantastic on the outside but crazy, crazy bright.

I stopped by there with my wife last night after i saw you post about the root beer. It looked delicious so i had to try it. Both me and the wife couldnt believe how good it (root beer) was.

Was it Round Barn Root Beer? That stuff is fantastic, and it's even better in the bottle.

It's almost like a dessert unto itself.

I imagine it's even better in a float, and I plan to find out soon!

This place is going to be a huge hit.

Pops doesn't carry Tonic Water. I could not believe it since they seemed to carry everything. I have to get mine (without HFCS) at a natural food store. I was hoping the one in Arcadia had it.
