Which movie have you seen the most?

A friend of mine posed this question to me and I was a bit stumped as I had never really thought about it.

After a lot of contemplation I'm pretty sure the correct answer for me would be A Christmas Story.

Although high on my favorites list, it's probably not a Top 10er for me. But.... I watch it every single Christmas season and have since it came out 25 years ago, and often more than once a year.

And I'll continue to watch it for the foreseeable future.


Others that rank high up there are The Godfather, just because it's so darn good. But also The Commitments and The Nightmare Before Christmas because I love the movies and the soundtracks, so there are many times I just queue them up to listen to the music.

This is a bit embarrassing, but I've never seen The Godfather. I also tend to not watch movies more then a couple of times, so I'm not sure I could even pick one that I've seen more than 3 times. Maybe The Wind That Shakes the Barley.

My top 5 are probably -
Star Wars - its been around so long and I know I've watched it a lot, beginning with seeing it in the theater on the day it released when I was a kid. I'm going to guess I've seen it upwards of 50 times, all the way through.
The Empire Strikes Back would be a close 2nd to the above.
The Princess Bride - at least 25 times, maybe more. I know, I know..."Incontheevable!"

The Blues Brothers

My exact experience. If I run across it I have to watch til the end, whether it is opening credits or the last five minutes. Though I sometimes then switch to my owned version on AppleTV, to avoid edits and commercials. Easily my most-watched movie.

BTW, I had probably seen it at least 100 times before I realized that the movie is really about Red, not Andy. Call me dense, but the way the story is told makes you THINK it is about Andy.

I agree that it's one of those movies that if I happen past it, I almost always end up watching it to the end no matter where I come in.

Not many I intentionally watch more than once, although I find myself watching movies I didn't remember seeing the first time.

Most number of times seen would probably be Wizard of Oz since we watched it every year it was on TV when I was a kid and some times since.

Christmas Story is one of the wife's favorites, so I'm stuck.

I just watched Moonrise Kingdom again the other day. I probably will again. It's lovely.

Pulp Fiction has seen a couple of repeats and I'd watch it again.

Seen Christmas Story over the years too, but only on TV.

I've seen Back To The Future at least 300 times. I used to work for Waldenbooks. When they were pushing VHS tapes, they let us pick a movie to put on repeat. 3 times a day times 5-6 days a week adds up. Crocodile Dundee wasn't too far behind.
