Actually I have liked everything I have eaten there, but have found that I'm only good for about 1-2 corn dogs per month. So when I said I'd like to see the menu fine-tuned a bit I'm not at all suggesting they abandon their identity; only that they add a few select items (maybe some paninis or something, to keep it easy) for some diversity. If they did that, I personally would be there more often. If they diversified a bit AND added lunch, I would be there A LOT, and I suspect a lot of downtown/Bricktown/Deep Deuce workers would be too.

Right now, for me, it's pretty much exclusively a drinking spot, and there are plenty of places that vie for my business there, most of whom have some good snack diversity if I get hungry.

I live right across the street and still haven't been. I actually went for lunch the other day only to realize they aren't open for lunch. Seems a very odd choice considering the location.

They do have a large OPEN sign that is lit up, but like mentioned above, you have to kind of know it is there.

I would hate to see it struggle, but part of me thinks it has something to do with lack of dedicated parking (which I know isn't a problem due to on-street parking on nearly every DD street). As mentioned many times before, OKC people are lazy when it comes to parking and walking.

Nearly every weekend night I see the patio full. We don't go often but it's been reasonably enjoyable when we've gone. And as others have mentioned - there's some stiff competition these days.

I don't think parking has anything to do with it. We need to stop even discussing parking here. I'm sick of it.

They are opening for lunches beginning tomorrow.

Not sure if this is a sign of business being good and being able to afford to staff for more hours, or if it is a hailmary attempt to try and make money @ lunch. This place is difficult to tell if there is activity inside, during the winter.

Dumbest move I've ever seen a restaurant,that sells corn dogs do is not open for lunch......I might ever go just because I was crushed the first time I went there and found out they didn't do lunch.... I'm going with the later ,that they are trying to salvage or save the place with a lunch crowd...

I, too, am not a fan of their hours of operation.

What makes me so mad about it is that they have such a cool atmosphere and great food, but I can't tell you how many times I have gone under the assumption they'd hours like a normal restaurant and then ended up at Coney Island, which is also a great place.

This is the 2nd or 3rd time, I've seen such a comment in this thread...so just curious what the correlational is between the dog park and said occupancy/success of a restaurant.

Gotcha. I knew that they were right next to each other, but not being a dog person I guess there was a disconnect there for me.

I've made the trek over a few times....but alas on both occasions, they weren't open. Looking forward to trying it.

Anchor Down has also partnered with Jon and Burke Beck of Red Coyote Running here in OKC. Starting this Spring, they are going to have a weekly fun run that starts and ends at Anchor Down. The specifics are still getting worked out but it looks like they will be Wednesdays around 5:30pm. These will be similar to their Pack Pint Run that is every Thursday, but they hope to capture more of the CBD workers and others that live near by. Looking forward to this!

maybe they could also rent a small cart and bring some of their food into the CBD. That could get office workers to try them out, and perhaps they could add a premium to the cart service since it would be so close to the office workers. ....

Perhaps other restaurants should try this (particularly in the non-winter months), get a cart and bring it into the CBD area for office workers who don't have enough lunch time to walk over, eat, and then walk back to work. Sell at a premium and everybody wins.

To see if either they had gotten a clue how much business they were losing or to see if a restaurant that had a clue to begin with had replaced them yet.

I'm thinking that I would call first if I had that experience instead of just showing up hoping that things might have changed. LOL
