I also agree that once there is a really good city flag - we could see it darn near everywhere. It shows a sense of pride that we should have for our city.
I believe most are iterations based on Shadowstrings' design.

Yeah, I have to admit I think the five star, scissor tail flag is the best design so far... Followed closely by the single star in a circle design. I'd be proud as heck to fly either one in front of my house.

This is my current personal favorite in the series. It's less formal than I would expect a city government to embrace.

Sorry Shadowstrings. I didn't mean to slight you, I was just mistaken about Kerry putting that design up first. Thanks mkjeeves for pointing it out.

I think my favorite one so far is the one that is Kerry's profile pic. I really like the five stars.

On a related note, since my living space is going to be reduced my hobbies need to start taking up less space as well so I am going to start collecting the 3" x 5" flags. I can buy State and National flags on-line but does anyone know a local place that I can get custom made mini-flags for cities? Most cities don't have flags available in that size.

for that size i wonder if your best bet is a monogram/embroidery shop. -M

You might try emailing those folks? Maybe they would like to expand their line if they had an idea there might be some demand. For one-off, inkjet fabric or iron-on transfers?

gotcha... if you don't want/need the flags to be embroidered, then maybe a screen printing shop could help you out. -M

Maybe I should just go on Alibaba and order 100 of each and sell them myself.

...and I'll make my own design for cities with bad ones.

I bought 300 4" square embroidered patches via email from someone named Mimi in Taiwan back in 2007 using an email address someone gave me. Cost me something like $238 and then the customs hit me with another $70 or so import fee. (They actually called me from where ever they intercepted them.)

I looked up the old emails. The internet has gotten better since then. It was these people and they show making flags. I don't think they had a website at the time. I wired them the money. We did all the rest of it with email. Fedx package was $70 of the cost.

They were give-aways. I hadn't planned on paying an import fee and that hurt the budget a bit. Professional custom patches by Hsin Ruey Embroidery

You could start with a SoSA flag.

    SoSA? South of St Anthony's?

I'd really like to see one of these designs get pushed forward. It is a unique and marketable design, I think.

Get some of the 5-star design flags printed up in a 3'x5' size, and I will happily buy one. I would LOVE to fly this design in front of my house!

I know people at the City read this board. I wish they would pick it up and run with it.

Me too. Apologies if this was posted earlier, but I do know the City is open to the idea of changing the city flag... Flag designs lead to civics lesson for Oklahoma City students | News OK

Interesting to note that the current design was adopted in '94.

I think I just came up with the perfect flag for New Zealand.

You mean that isn't their current flag? What a disappointment.
