Bump from way back.
Read some of the reviews on these in other locations. Mixed is a fair description. But probably a fun place and unique chain to land here.
There are several of these out here in Southern California and they are quite popular.will be at 2737 Memorial Road. The two-story building that began as Don Pablo's boasts more than 7,700 square feet. It previously was home to Buddha Tao followed by its most recent occupant, Dan O’Brien's.
Hopefully they can find the right formula to make it work in this jinxed location.
I live close to this area, so the proximity is nice, but I really which they'd stop trying to make restaurants and bars work on that strip. They're harder to get to, the traffic sucks, and it's just such a bland, whitewashed area. I would have much rather seen them in Chisholm Creek or Bricktown.
I wonder if tongue sandwiches will be offered?
Gene Simmons is such a total Johnson. Did anyone hear the NPR interview with Terri Gross in which he kept making sexually inappropriate comments to her like he was in 6th grade.
I don't give this place good odds of surviving in the location they picked.
Looks like a pretty ambitious remodel:

Why not downtown? They had to put it on a one way street in front of an ugly culinary school at a cursed location??
Oy vey!
Exactly... and this seems like the kind of place that would have some draw, so it would be great if they had put it in an area where other business are walkable that could benefit. Again, Chisholm Creek would have been a great fit, or Bricktown.
The Steelyard would have been great, across from a music venue, with two hotels on the property, etc.
a rock n roll chili's? pass
Saw on Craigslist that they are hiring waitstaff. Should be opening soon.
I absolutely hate the location. I think Bricktown would be a better location, or if they want to stay out there Chisholm Creek would be awesome.
The location they are building in Dallas is actually in the Colony. So they clearly like their suburban locations to be extra sprawly.
That's where their target market lives. Smart business decision. Glad they're not in Bricktown. The themed restaurants in Bricktown are primarily locally-based and locally-themed, and it's healthiest for the district if it stays that way.
Going to the advance party "trial run" on Tuesday. They will also have a dog friendly patio.
their facebook says they open tomorrow (wed, oct 28).
Ran into Rick Sinnett last night at Powerhouse and he's doing the murals for this project and they've contracted with him to do all their new sites around the country.
Sinnett is the muralist behind the massive display on the Rocktown silo.
^^^^^^
Ha ha was just getting ready to post this. Rick has been posting updates on social media for the past couple of weeks showing the individual band logos and images as he was working on them. Sorry I missed him at Powerhouse. He's a good dude.
Rock & Brews officially opened today.
I've been to the original in El Segundo, CA but that is a very different place than these newer locations.
Curious to see the vibe and see how it is received here.
I sure hope they can break the curse. May have to check it out on Saturday!
