Sources: Thunder to evaluate Scott Brooks' future as coach

    By Adrian Wojnarowski
    Yahoo Sports

The Oklahoma City Thunder are expected to spend time evaluating the partnership with coach Scott Brooks before committing to bring him back for the final year on his contract, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Brooks is guaranteed for the 2015-16 season on his deal, with the Thunder holding a team option for 2016-17, sources told Yahoo Sports.

Oklahoma City missed the playoffs for the first time in six years on Wednesday, finishing 45-37 with superstar Kevin Durant lost for most of the year. Thunder general manager Sam Presti has to decide an organizational direction for the final year of Durant's contract, and that will include a decision about whether Brooks is ultimately the coach most capable of delivering a healthy Thunder roster to a championship. Brooks is well liked within the organization and has forged close relationships with management and players in his seven years as head coach.

Several league sources close to Brooks have doubts about his job security.

If a change comes, University of Florida coach Billy Donovan could emerge as a serious candidate to coach Oklahoma City, league sources said. Presti has a longstanding friendship with Donovan, a two-time national championship coach who has been open about his interest in moving to the NBA.

Nothing less than the 14th pick:

Throughout all the 2014-15 NBA season, our Oklahoma City Thunder has been hit with adversity; it's time to put on the charm. The Thunder will have 0.5% chance to get that top pick. There are 13 teams ahead of the Thunder with better odds.

    Could this be our year?

The Lakers' pick will be sent to the Suns if it falls outside the top five as a condition of an earlier trade.

The Heat's pick will be sent to the 76ers if it falls outside the top 10 as a condition of an earlier trade.

A random draw will break the tie between the Jazz and Pacers and determine which team gets an additional .1% shot at the No. 1 pick.

Billy Donovan has the charm of Scott Brooks; he will bring more variety to the team, which should allow him to be a better extension.

I just saw Donovan's exit/farwell press conference in Florida. From a personal standpoint, Billy Donovan is class personified. That should translate to the court.

Uni-Watch.com EXCLUSIVE: Next Season’s NBA Christmas Uniforms

    Caveat:
Remember, we don’t yet know which teams will be playing on Dec. 25, or even how many games there will be on that date, because the NBA hasn’t yet released the 2015-16 schedule. (For reference, last year there were five games on Christmas.) So we won’t be seeing all of these designs on the court, but the designs were developed months ago, so they did one for every team, just in case.
The NBA usually releases the schedule around the beginning of August.

I like those way better than the cursed alternate unis from the past few seasons. I would like to see a statistical breakdown, but I honestly believe their introduction was the beginning of The Troubles. Just like the stupid OU mascots ruined OU football.

Thunder have an almost 99% chance to land the 14th pick when the lottery picks happen tomorrow night. Drama likely will be over early - if Thunder name is pulled out of hat first then they are 14th. If not, they are guaranteed of a top 3 pick. Hey 1 in 100 is better than 1 in a million!!

Such a big pick up... Has had multiple years experience in the NBA and with coaching a young superstar in Anthony Davis.

Wow. OKC pulling out all the stops in the coaching department this season.

Such a stark contrast to the last 3 years.

I am excited for the season, but I am still indifferent on seeing Durant is still in his boot.... On one foot, he is [smartly] staying off the injury, on the other foot, maybe it is still stubborn enough to pain him.

Yes, looks like they want to make sure BD has plenty of NBA experience on the bench with him!

Mo would be good! Like the idea of these NBA coaches with lots of experience both as assistants and even head coaches being with team! Hopefully good mix of new ideas from Donovan and some tried and true experience as well.
