Bobby Dennis, one of the original proprietors of CityWalk and Murphy's, has started construction on a new multi-theme upscale club in the penthouse level space atop JDM Place on the Bricktown Canal. The previous occupant was Skky Bar which closed last year.
To be called Cosmopolitan OKC, the club will feature three different themes in the large, 12,500 square foot space: DOUX, a craft cocktail lounge; The Roost, a cigar bar; and Malarkey's, a dueling piano bar.
The entire space will be non-smoking apart for the expansive patio that faces the Bricktown canal to the south and Bricktown Ballpark to the east.
Cosmopolitan will target a mature, sophisticated crowd and while not a full-service restaurant, will offer small plates and desserts.
The design is by Bella Vici which recently moved into a new location in Deep Deuce. Local businessman Ray Belcher is a partner along with Dennis.
With a targeted opening date set for April, the plan is to operate seven days a week from 6PM to 2AM, although Malarkey's would only be open Thursdays through Saturdays starting at 8PM.
The club will be directly across the canal from Brickopolis, a restaurant, games and miniature golf complex currently under construction.
