Just a thought. Every foot and ankle doc I have ever known has said that for any lower extremity injury it is important to be non weight bearing as much as possible. Why has KD been running around, jumping and basically not giving his injury a chance to heal?

As soon as the Thunder appear to be on track, the injury bug hits.

We know the value of Kevin Durant, Nick Collison, Serge Ibaka & Andre Roberson. Just get some of these guys back; maybe we can make one last run.

I believe it's Bill Simmons from ESPN who said the Thunder will never win a championship. He also said that the Thunder will be a lottery team in just a matter of time

Here's a nice personal story. My son and his fiancé live in Phoenix. As a wedding gift, one of his friends bought them tickets to last nights game. They had their Thunder shirts on and as they were approaching the arena, a man walked up to them and said he had a couple of extra tickets to the game if they'd like. He said that they had a group and a couple couldn't make it and that they were good seats. The man introduced himself, first name only and told him and his fiancé to come to the Blue Moon Club just off the floor and meet them for dinner. Well, the seats were just a couple of rows from the floor with a price of $492.75 each. They went through the buffet, all drinks were included also and then sat with the family practically courtside. It turns out that one of the daughters goes to Arizona State and the other lives in Austin but went to Norman North where his fiancé went to high school. None the less, he sent several pictures and was forever grateful. The man as it turns out, is a minority owner of the Thunder. As they left after the game, the man told my son they appreciated his commitment as a Thunder fan, my son told him that we all appreciated what they had done for OKC bringing in the team. I'll stop right here and be prudent on naming names publicly, but wow that was great for us common folks. If someone wants to know who this generous man and family is, give me a PM.

Simmons is a clown. Him and his Zombie Sonics crap. He's just jealous cause we're going to be good for years. He's as much of a drama queen as skip bayless. All that spew for the ratings.

Simmons has been annoying and given OKC fans a hard time for the Sonics relocation and the James Harden trade, but comparing Simmons and Bayless is off base. For all his flaws, Simmons is a historian of the game who rose to prominence with a more intellectual, yet still narrative-driven, analysis. His "Book of Basketball" is funny and well-researched. He started Grantland which offers the best sportswriting there is AND the incredible 30 for 30 series. Bayless is 100% narrative with no substance. He's the Jerry Springer of sports.

You know Dan, intellect is one thing; when will Simmons reach a level of maturity to complement that intellect? You would think that he would have moved past this childlike tantrum he has displayed toward Oklahoma City & the Thunder since the NBA Supersonics' relocation of 2008.

When is Collison coming back? I thought he was only out for 10 days?

Last thing I have seen was "at least" 10 days which would have been thru today. I guess we will find out for the Mavs game if it's longer.

The last two months, Westbrook has averaged 31.0 points, 8.8 rebounds and 10.2 assists. Thunder 18-8 in that time.

Another Silliman on Sports NBA article:

THE BABY FACE, THE BEARD AND THE MASK

The MVP race in the NBA calls for a rap. See if you don’t agree:

    He came from Charlotte
    Daddy name of Dell
    A loosed limbed baller
    shootin’ faster than hell
    Creates for Golden State
So fast there is no wait
With Klay he drains the splash
His bro… so money they like cash
    On defense he’s harrassin’
    Assistin’ and a passin’
    Buckets he amassin’
    He’s the Baby-Faced Assassin

He’s the Beard you always feared
    He resembles Kimbo Slice
Crosses you over, not once but twice
Euro steps you in the face
Can’t stop him with even mace
Launched the Rockets to record pace
His beard be seen from space
On late game shots he ain’t no coward
Doing this all with no Dwight Howard
Gets to the line like no one’s business
    In a style uniquely his-ness
There’s no guardin’ one James Harden

    Next we find The Mask
    Charged with daunting task
    Of leading gimpy Thunder
At a pace so fast you’ll all but wonder
How he survives broken hand, broken face
No Serge, no KD… yet stays in the playoff race
With trippy dubbies at a pace
With MJ, Wilt and Oscar be compared
Flying so high… the air be rared
    No one outruns Russell
No one has his drive, his hustle
And on fashion, he’s all muscle

Dirk N announced his retirement today. Mavs play tonight in OKC. Pretty incredible 17 year career. 13 time all-star, MVP, NBA champion, Finals MVP. 7th all time on scoring list and ONLY player to score 25K pts, 10K boards, 1K steals and 1K blocks.

“I love it here, man. I love my teammates, I love the city, I don’t really think about anywhere else. I hear it all the time, don’t get me wrong, and once you hear it you’re kind of like [looks up]. But for me, I love staying in the moment and I’m one of those guys that would love to stick it out with one team my whole career."

I think that was an April fools day prank.

I'm pretty sure that was an April Fools' Day joke. Either way, he's obviously close to that point in his career. It will be sad when he does retire, for me at least. Having spent a large portion of my childhood in Dallas before the Thunder came to Oklahoma City, rooting for the Mavs came naturally. As a tall, fairly skinny German kid that loved to play basketball, I quickly latched onto Dirk and began to style my game after him. I never got as far as him, but I found a love for the game while watching him play that I probably wouldn't have today if it wasn't for him.

"I love playing for Oklahoma City, man. There's just a certain level of pride that I have when I play with that Oklahoma City on my chest," he said then. "So that's the only thing I'm focused on. Everybody knows that I represent where I come from that no matter where I play at, no matter what arena. But I'm just focused on playing with Oklahoma City. It feels like home now. That's where I am."

Kevin Durant says he would love to stick with Oklahoma City Thunder for whole career
