The patio out back looks like it could be very relaxing to enjoy some coffee and read the latest in OKC Talk.

Looks like they paid $100,000 ($5.80 per SF) for the 0.396 Acres in 2012
Leonard Sullivan Oklahoma County Assessor Real Property Detail Sheet

Also their building permit was approved in March: Full Filled Coffee - 601 S. Boulevard - $600,000 - 2,015 SF
    http://www.eeda.com/sites/eeda/uploa...March_2014.pdf

That's $298 per SF construction cost! And I am sure with kitchen & restaurant equipment they will probably be close to $1,000,000 all in.

It's interesting that someone would want to spend this much money for a coffee house.. Maybe they will serve $5 cups of coffee?

I wish their hours were going to be different! 6am-6pm every day according to the website. It looks like a cool place and would be awesome to go relax at after work for a few hours! Maybe once they are up and running the hours will change a bit.

My wife helped design this. I think it is going to be really nice and the owners seem to be pretty nice people in general.

The hours are not too great but maybe they will start to stay open later soon.

Fulfilled is now open. They did a stellar job on this project. The metal work on the hanging lamp fixtures and the table/chair selections really make this place stand out. There is a fireplace and open outdoor seating facing a neighborhood/creek bed. They were working on landscaping today as a final touch.

My one complaint about it is the pricing. I purchased a 12 oz Americano today and it was smooth. As good as it was though, it was north of $3 (around $3.30 I believe), when you can get the same size or higher for between $2.50-$3 at Evoke, Aspen, and Coffee Commission. Lattes and Cappuccinos are about $4 each.

Nighttime pic. Not very good quality, but it looks really nice in person.

We went tonight after an early dinner. Great patio + welcoming to the dog = major bonus points. We got lattes which were great- good thick foam. We were there shortly before closing so the food case was a big sparse, but the brownie and lemon square we got were good. Definitely repeat business from us!

    Closing already. From FB.

"To our loyal and wonderful customers and friends, Thank you for your support and patronage of Fulfilled Coffee Co..Today is our last day of business. It's been quite a journey through the transitions of the last few months, but you all have made it such a wonderful adventure.

Our baristas and staff have been AMAZING! and have not only become our friends, but family. They made Fulfilled the very special place we all know it to be. We thank them sincerely."

We will miss you all. Britt and Jean Piper

What the heck? All of that work, new construction expense, etc., and they were only open six months? I can't imagine someone could have spent or borrowed that much and not have been capitalized for a longer run than that. Any idea regarding the reason for closing?

Should the name of this thread be changed to "Unfilled Coffee (cup)"? Actually, I don't mean to make fun of somebody losing their business. Sorry it happened. It does seem strange, I don't totally understand running a business, but I started to open my own a few years and all the planning and budgeting (business plan) was for the first year. So, like Urbanized, six months is very short time, it would be interesting to see their business plan.

Surely there's more to the story.

Perhaps they were bought out by the Holloways?

When the place was being designed they had some grand plans but then realized they couldn't afford it and down sized. I'm not so sure they had a great business plan in place...

Personally, I think this sort of thing happens a lot. Take a well intentioned owner with some good credit and unrealistic expectations and you have the reason so many businesses fail early in their existence.

No idea what happened in this instance, but I don't think it is necessarily too complicated of an answer.....

Too bad. The wife and I talked about going there, just hadn't made it by yet.

Not really sure what happened..but i just stumbled upon this.

Also, really weird thing is that there was a post last Thursday on one of the Facebook pages (FCC Piper) saying they are hiring. Very odd.

After reading that review it makes me wonder about the post from Fulfilled - "Our baristas and staff have been AMAZING! and have not only become our friends, but family" I wonder if 'but family' they mean they gave them the shaft and didn't give them a heads up the place was closing....

I don't get it..? When I click on that I get a Google Plus profile for an IT guy in Ventura California. When I look at the link URL it includes the word "reviews", but I can find no reviews on his profile; mostly just a lot of quotes, scriptures, and environmental memes.

I don't disagree that under capitalization is common. It is in fact the number one reason that small businesses fail. I'm just saying that it's unusual to see something so elaborate fail so quickly. If they had the wherewithal to put together a million bucks (or whatever) to build, footing operating costs for at least a year should have been pretty easy, even with zero cash flow, which surely was not the case.

I had JUST read the first posts on this site about this place and was thinking about going. Then the very next thing I read is "Sorry Folks, Wallyworld is closed"...
I know alot of people will want to exhume the body and autopsy what happened to it. My first, knee-jerk reaction would be, "Why build a brand new, shiny building for a coffee house?" Most successful coffee houses that I know of, or have been to, have been remodels of existing, older structures. It seems to add to the hipster charm of these places.

seems like the guy may have an issue with the owner. these are his reviews of local coffee shops:

    Fullfilled Coffee Company
    601 S Boulevard St, Edmond, OK 73034
Terrible owner. Ask him how he acquired the business by stealing from family. A complete disgrace to humanity. Don't support this business.

    Café Evoke
    103 S Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034
Great food here today on our tour of Edmond. Best thing is, this place is owned by good folks. Compared to Fulfilled coffee - where the owner scheistered his own family to take control of the place. Thanks for great coffee, made with love.

    Aspen Coffee Company Edmond
    180 W 15th St #140, Edmond, OK 73013
Tasty brew here on a whirlwind tour of Edmond. I was shocked to hear how Fulfilled Coffee had been pulled out from under the team who started it by "family" but thankful to find better coffee in town here.
