Is he out at the KATT?
Is he out at the KATT?
I heard some of his skits the other night but I don't know if they were reruns or live. Last I remember, Bladerunner bolted for a better gig on the East Coast. Of course, that was about five years ago and I just got back last week, so I'm trying to familiarize myself with OKC media again.
Something I can't stand are the constant endorsements. When did this start? WWLS is the worst. With that being said, nothing compares to listening to the good ol' KATT, especially on Mandatory Metallica Mondays and Local Talent Show Tuesdays.
He's off the KATT again. This time they decided they needed to downsize. So they cut Blade with their thinking of he made too much money.![]()
I listen to the KATT everyday and they're getting bad with endorsements as well. I just LOVE when they're having a conversation in the morning and they use it to lead into an ad. Like talking about their dogs and then they talk themselves into an ad for Purina One. Makes me sad.
Exactly! Do they really expect us to believe their conversations are genuine? The only thing worse than listening to that bull is hearing Al Eschbach smack his food on the air, especially with that high pitched New England accent. I enjoy listening to the Animal but listening to Al's voice is like hearing nails run down a chalk board...ever so slowly...and ever so painfully. Ah!
My brother tried to convert me to 94.7, but I grew up with the Katt and I'm loyal to the bone. Besides, the Katt still plays the best hard rock in Oklahoma City and the DJ's familiar voices are welcoming to me. While the Katt has sold out and have gone downhill recently, they make up for their shortcomings by playing the best music in OKC.
Since they've sold out so much, with a little money I bet we could get them to say, "The Katt rocks OKCTalk.com...Growl"!
Meh, to me, Bladerunner was annoying most of the time so I'm not shedding any tears over his leaving. He played good music (I'm not sure how much input he had on what he played), but his voice always seemed juvenile and whiney to me.
Bladerunner is still around, he's just not with the katt anymore. You can find him online alive and well though. I got this from him the other day, I thought it was interesting. Sort of falls inline with the "you are fired for making too much money" line and with the rise in sponsors and advertising on the radio.
"the Federal Communications Commission this week announced the largest collective fine for the four largest radio station owners -- $12.5 million -- in an effort to put payola out of the picture forever. Included in the FCC settlement with Clear Channel Inc., CBS Radio, Entercom Corp and Citadel Broadcasting Corp., is a requirement that the four companies give 4,000 hours of air time to small record companies and local artists."
- Maybe now we will finally hear some good music on the radio also, instead of listening to what they are paid to play.
I think citadel is cutting positions all the way around. From what I understand they are only live during the peak hours of listening time. If it is not a peak hour such as morning, noon or afternoon drive it is all voice tracking.
It's good that Rick & Brad Theatre got a sponsor, it's their best segment on the KATT anyway.![]()
they now have a sponsor for rick and brad theater. lame.
