Pizza Hut on Danforth

Does anyone have any idea what is going in to the old Pizza Hut location on Danforth? I noticed the "for sale" sign was down a couple of weeks ago when I drove by. Then today we drove by and noticed they were re-roofing it and we could see people working inside.

There is a fairly nice remodel going on right now. Surely they have something in store. I'll try and get a pic soon.

It was recently purchased by the group that operates Pickles in Moore.

I assume it will be the same.

By far the best Rib Crib is in an old Pizza Hut, so I was hoping for that . Although the RIb Cribs in OKC aren't that great, so I'll be happy with something else. It does appear to be a nice remodel. At least nicer than what I've seen with a lot of old Pizza Huts.

Wouldn't think they would put in a Rib Crib since there's already one in Edmond, just a few miles away.

I'm not familiar with Pickles. I'll have to check them out.

The EEDA January building permit page lists this project as "Pickles Restaurant", so that seems to confirm it. Has anyone eaten at the Moore location? Yay or nay?

I do not go there often but I've been to Pickles in Moore a few times.

Simple, down home American comfort grub; delivered up by an exceptional, friendly staff.

Looks pretty good, there is a home style place I love in Ft Smith, haven't been able to find an equal anywhere else.

I still think it looks like a Chinese buffet. Maybe I've just seen too many Chinese buffets in old Pizza Huts.

In their defense, the false walls on the roof block the view of all the mechanicals, so if you took the walls down it'd be quite ugly. Doing anything to hide the mechanicals otherwise probably would've been pretty expensive and considering they are going into an old Pizza Hut, I doubt they were looking to spend that much.

It would look better without the windows and columns, though.

Although Rib Crib in BA did a much better job: Google Street View Edit: I guess I am not completely sure that was an old Pizza Hut, it may have been an old Kens. which were built with flat roofs.
