    Default Norman Mayoral Elections

OU recently published highlights of the following video debate of the 2007 mayoral candidates. The election is this week. This video is only 8 minutes long and is quite interesting.

Yes I was able to see the debate at OU, and I even saw crazy ol' EZ Million get a few rants in. Isn't this like the 30th election he has been in? In all seriousness though, I have a feeling this election is pitting the Brookhaven/West Norman set against the OU/Campus Corner crew. It will be interesting to see what side wins out on Tuesday.

Looks like the "OU/Campus Corner crew" won as Cindy Rosenthal was elected the new mayor of Norman. I think this is good for Norman and we will see more responsible development in existing urban areas like Campus Corner and downtown and protection of the greenbelts and floodplains around the city. Plus her connections to OU will be good for city-university partnerships, which it seems has not been that good of a relationship in the past.
