It would be fascinating if it came from a reputable news source. Lost civilizations are a curiosity of mine.

Whether or not you believe it's credible or not is irrelevant. More importantly you,
of all people, should know that derailing a thread is against OKC Talk rules.

"At least four YouTube posters think there just may be a lost city on the continent of Antarctica."
    Sounds legit.

Sounds like those crazy Swedes found something in the ice.

Tried looking for any credible sources on this ancient city, doesn't appear to be any. Looks like a lot of hand waving. Some of the peaks do look very angular but they are rather natural.

Google maps of the supposed pyramid.

This would be very fascinating if I could find a reputable news site that was reporting it.

That article is a joke. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't doubt the possibility of it being true considering the poles have not always been where they are now. Antarctica could have been a lush jungle full of all kinds of life at one point in its existence.

I believe that everyone on this thread reacted instead of reading and responding.

Does anyone on this thread know what "This is very interesting and even cooler
    if it's true" means?

I thought it was an interesting article and that it would be cooler if it was true.

Did anyone who replied to my post honestly read my post? There's no evidence
    that anyone did.

Good grief. There are none so blind as those who want to discredit without
    knowing what they're talking about.

It makes for a good story, but when you consider the facts the odds are pretty much nil.

Antarctica is on average covered in ten feet of ice and snow on top of that. The really icy areas have fifty feet of ice between you and the actual solid ground. The last time Antarctica was thawed out was, based on ice coring, somewhere around 30 million years ago. The last time Antarctica was connected up to Austrailia and Africa was between 300 and 200 million years ago. Humans first emerged maybe 200,000 years ago.

The entire time we've been here Antarctica has been cold, covered in thick ice, and remote. If any evidence of civilization was ever found there, calling it a game changer would be an understatement. It's fun to think about though.

You know several dinosaur skeletons have been found there including entirely new species never seen before. I think things like that are probably a more likely find. I find them just as fascinating.

Anarctica is technically a desert. There is no rain fall.

So what you're saying is that it's probably aliens.

If you're a reader, check out At the Mountains of Madness, by H.P. Lovecraft. He really nailed the creepy lost Antarctic civilization story (which was later heavily ripped off by Alien vs. Predator).
