Thread: Cavender's

  1. #1

    Far West Cavender's

OKC to get it's first Cavender's in the Westgate Marketplace along I-40 between MacArthur and Rockwell.

Will also be adding a Marshall's and Versona; the only other Versona location in the Metro is in Norman's University North Park.

There are existing Cavender's in Tulsa, Stillwater, McAlister and Bartlesville.

I was curious when something was going to go in that space. I was thinking if Costco was out on the Chisolm Creek area, this might not be a bad spot.

This is ironic, I just stated I wanted a Cavender's in another thread the other day. This place has more than just western wear, just like shepler's.

I saw all the walls going up on this was wondering what was going on in this spot. There is also a pad-site in the front of Bestbuy that is under construction. What is being built on that pad-site? Does anyone know anything else on this project?

Why would you want a Cavender's when we have many local western wear stores? Both Tener's and Langston's are locally owned and Langston's has anchored the Stockyards for decades, which is a significant international draw for the city, and has been in the Oklahoma City metro for over 100 years.

I personally don't like Langston's. Other than boots I don't shop for 'western wear' and it seems as though Cavender's has trendier clothes. I don't see Cavender's making a dent in Langston's, I know several places that shop their exclusively.

Interesting. I thought they were pretty much the same, except Cavender's is more expensive. They both basically carry the same brands.

Atwood's would be different though, imo, though not trendy at all.

Vitamin Shoppe and one other for-rent space.

I think it's with anything, some people just prefer certain stores over others. I haven't noticed it being more expensive, of course the majority of the time we shopped there I know it was their sales. So you may be right when things aren't on sale. Either way these aren't places I frequent, but I do buy new boots every 2 years or so, and I like having selection.
