" You've Been Thunder Struck ! "
Didn't get to see the Ellen show but I love this movie. Hubby & I are adding it to our list of must buys. Not sure why we buy movies we've already seen, we never watch them again.
I rented this the other night and I have to say I was a little disappointed. Maybe with all the hype surrounding the film I expected something different. It had it's funny moments, but there was a lot more drama to it than humor; which is fine, but I was led to believe this was a pure comedy film. A friend says that I need to watch it a couple times or more to really appreciate it. Maybe I'll borrow his DVD when he gets it. For now I give it a 7 out of 10.
Yeah, you have to see it a few times to really appreciate it. I usually don't like to watch movies more than once but I've seen this one 4 times.
Even though it is a comedy, it could have been a drama.
I loved the message of the movie.. family, acceptance, love..
" You've Been Thunder Struck ! "
I can see where it might lose some of its impact on DVD. I saw it in a crowded theater in Dallas and with everyone roaring with laughter (especially at the end), that certainly added to the whole thing. I've seen it another two times though now and I just love it. Great movie.

True.. same with Borat.. the sold out crowd was roaring with laughter .. but I'll bet seeing it at home alone might not have the same effect.
" You've Been Thunder Struck ! "
Man I wish I had seen Borat in a crowded theatre...
uh oh, did you not like Borat?
" You've Been Thunder Struck ! "
No I haven't seen it yet and I wish I could have seen it with a crowd.
i saw borat a couple weeks ago while stuck at home during all the ice... it sure had its funny parts, but there were a few others that just made me cringe... really cringe. all in all a funny movie, but i'm not too disapointed for not seeing it in the theatre now. -M
edit: oops... all this borat talk and i thought this was a borat thread... my bad.
no problem
