BBates .... Good and honest food review as always.
I too will give them a try. I agree with you that eating lunch in Bricktown can be inconvenient, especially on the weekdays.
Excellent Pizza! I think it's the best I've had in OKC. The duck fat garlic fries are to DIE for.
Seriously anyone who loves pizza (and who doesn't..) should try this place!
We got burned by them last night. One of their banners on their home page says "Buy a pizza, get one free on Tuesdays with your Keep It Local card", which would seem to cover delivery, pick-up, and eat-in since it doesn't specify anything else, but it doesn't apply to delivery, guy on the phone says it's for pick-up (not sure if it applies to eat-in or not). Wife was on the phone with them from work, had to get it delivered to work, I wasn't on the phone, otherwise they would've gotten a few earfuls of some nasty stuff from me... Very uncool, and given that she said the crust wasn't done enough, it had whole olives instead of sliced (weird), and it just wasn't that good overall, not gonna bother with them again, many more pizza places around here that don't do false advertising and have better pizza than them for us to bother with them again.
Wife was at work at night downtown (getting it delivered), and was short-staffed, so she didn't bother. I, however, did send in a contact form, but don't expect them to give a sh*t. As I said, with all the other pizzerias that we actually like, wasn't worth much more than sending in an email and outing them on here.![]()
What this means to me is that you are largely assuming the worst of your experience with Knucks rather than affording them any benefit of the doubt. That's your prerogative, of course, and I doubt anyone would care if you ate there again or not. "Outing" them here without giving them a chance to respond however, especially over a matter as simple as a miscommunicated special and a matter of preference, says more about you than Knucks, IMO. Especially since I've had nothing but good to great experiences with them.
I am not passing any judgment as I have been guilty of complaining without contacting a manger before, but it has been pointed out on this board before that it only makes sense to bring the problem to the manager and allow them to respond before blasting them online. The discussions here have helped me realize that that's the right thing to do... thus the question.
Actually, I should've said "warning" rather than "outing" so nobody else would try to order something that they don't honor. Too many other restaurants we need to try (pizza and otherwise), as well as we have other pizzerias we like to go go, to bother with one place that has been around long enough to have things worked out. And my wife actually said their order-taker was pretty pissy over the phone, so we just don't need to deal with them...
I did bring the problem to them, at least whoever reads their email forms (probably the same pissy order-taker my wife talked to last night, lol)...
Absolutely, I'm an a**hole, anybody that knows me IRL knows that, I have no time for crap like that, many other places that are run properly will get my business, I don't give many places much more than 1 or 2 chances. I do, however, wait for 6 months before going to a restaurant, that gives them enough time to work the kinks out and be running correctly.
That's funny, because I know the owners pretty well, and they absolutely, positively give a sh*t as much as any restaurant people I know. I happened to run into them tonight when I was at Rockford (another of their businesses) and they had been made aware of your post here and were asking me how to get in touch with you to discuss and hopefully make things right (they know I post here).
After reading this, it doesn't sound like they had seen any communication from you directly, so assuming you are telling the truth about sending it (and why wouldn't you be) it's possible that their contact form isn't working right. If you want to PM your e-mail address or other contact info to me, I will be happy to forward it to them.
But, for the record I will again say, I don't know too many people who I know in the industry (and I know a LOT of them) who are more honestly concerned with making folks happy.
This is being resolved.
^^^^^
And why would that be happening? Oh yeah...because they give a sh*t.
My wife and I stopped by last night before the Thunder game. First time for either of us. I had heard great things about the food, and it did not disappoint. The sriracha wings were awesome and so was our pizza that we built, but the best part was $4 F5 pints! The only issue we had was that they somehow seemed understaffed, despite the fact that we were the only people there. While both people working were very friendly and seemed to be working their tails off, there must of been a lot of to go orders, because two people could not keep up with the phones, making pizzas, and servicing customers at the counter. After our long wait at the counter to order, our food arrived very quickly and as I mentioned, we really enjoyed it.
Overall, we were glad we stopped by and will definitely be back.
My only complaint about the place in general is that they always seem understaffed.

Not a badge of honor, it's just pretty much the truth, I just don't have much tolerance for things that should be done right (yes, there are circumstances that may make it impossible to do things right sometimes, but if you say "buy one get one free on Tuesdays with a Keep It Local card" without a * next to it with the terms of that offer, then I should get 1 pizza free, that's all there is to it, but they're working on that part now.)
And thanks, Urbanized, for your offer, Pete got ahold of me, and they got in touch with me.

Wonder what the new nearby concept will be?
(BTW I really like this place. Reading the article made me hungry.)
I'm not a huge fan. Their pizza is fine, but the actual store has always been repulsive(particularly the smell) when I've been in.
I had no idea that they make deliveries via skateboard. That is interesting considering skateboarding in the CBD and Midtown is actually illegal.
Nearby.... probably not the Hooter's space... maybe the old Peachwave space? Though ideally it would be a sports bar in the old Coach's space... unless they're replacing captain norm.
