Assuming that a new 1,500 sq ft home in that area is going to go for about 175K, I don't really get the uproar either. Hardly low income housing. That land is zoned for apartments anyway; I would much rather have some new homes behind me that people actually own.

Anyone know what happen at the auction? I heard rumors of Westbury residents trying to gather enough funds to purchase the land back, including the previously sold land to the developer.

I heard that a developer is going to turn it into a retirement village. The club house was not sold.

Received some interesting news today. I received a email from the westbury neighborhood assoc. Oklahoma City is in talk about purchasing the golf course. OKC has had several meetings (OKC council members, OKC golf commissioners, surveyors) and about the possibility of turning the course into a west side OKC public course.

That's kind of sad for me. I used to have a membership there when I lived in Mustang

The area of Westbury that consisted of the driving range as well as a drainage area along Morgan Road have begun to be developed. Several truckloads of dirt have been brought in and there are currently three Caterpillar scrapers on site. This week crews have been out surveying and staking out the alignment for dirt work and new streets. The development is being done by Arbor Land Development and will consist of 154 homes.
