Three new Natural Grocers coming to Oklahoma City.

One location is the long-rumored SW corner of 164th & N. Western. They are well under construction with a target opening date of 8/12/14. The site plans and renderings are for this site. There is a $1.75 million building permit for 16,000 SF.

The second -- according to their website -- is at 67th & N. May. I believe they will be taking the building just north of the Lakeshore Center on the west side of May and the site says opening date is 10/17/14. Interestingly, this is just a few blocks from the first Sprouts location in OKC at 63rd & May. Sprouts locations are typically twice the size of Natural Grocers.

5/5/14: Just learned there will be a third location on the SW corner of SW 89th & Penn, just west of the McDonald's.

164th & N. Western location opens 8/12/14.

70th & N. May opens 10/7/14.

I think this just proves what mindless idiots these people are who decide on locations.

These are only 16,000 SF stores, which is less than half the size a Walmart Neighborhood Market or Sprouts.

These two stores will be more than six miles apart.

It will be across the street from Sprouts, and one mile away from Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. And a mile or so away from the new Uptown Market.

And only a couple miles south of the proposed Uptown Grocery, the nicest Homeland in the City and the best Buy for Less (Portland & NW Expressway) as well.

Yet, I bet they all do very well. Sprouts and Whole Foods certainly have and I would expect the same from the others.

63rd & May has long been the epicenter of OKC retail for a number of reasons.

Happy for us who live "Norther" to have another option just a mile and a half from my house! Of course Edmond has a Crest and a Sprouts just a couple miles away but there are a lot of roofs in that area and I'm sure the 164th/Western store will do quite well.

Pete, I believe the 67th location will be one shopping center to the north from the one highlighted on the map. They've recently moved rocket color out of that center and moved them to the one south of there. Also gentle dental recently moved out, leaving the entire shopping center empty.

I cannot wait for this addition to the continuing traffic cluster-f*** that is North May Avenue.

Excited about the project, not excited about the location.

Amen on the traffic problem on May from NWX to about Britton. Needs its own streetcars running back and forth.

Super excited to see the SW side one...and it not be way the crap down at 119th and May or something. This one will be within a reasonable drive for me!!! YAY!
