Hey, it just became a little more likely because I have big dogs which wouldn't otherwise work in that district.
Seriously, this bar/dog park may become the greatest pickup spot in the state for dog lovers!
I watch it on Channel 20 and understood that the application would be modified such that the entire area except the dog park would be approved. They could come back later if they felt they wanted approval for that area too.
I hope it's not Saint's. The attitudinal staff there is just about unbearable. I've quit going there except to see musical acts that are special to me.
My money is on Empire.
They are killing it in the Plaza and the two patios are an integral part of their whole operation, as they would be at this spot as well.
Plus you don't generally need much kitchen space to make quick pizzas. It is about moving product quickly and cheaply.
This place is screaming Empire or some other pizza parlor deal.
so money.
Actually, the Chisholm Creek developers mentioned on twitter a week ago that they were in Dallas "#prospecting" a place called Mutts Canine Cantina (www.muttscantina.com) that is a combo restaurant/dog park. If they could lure something like that to Chisholm Creek, that might give the bar/dog park some competition for best pick up spot for dog lovers!

Just learned it's The Mule that is going to operate the restaurant and bar in this project.
Are the other tenants known yet?
When is OKSea supposed to be up and running?
This is going to be the case but there are also other issues with the parking in Deep Deuce at this point. The operators of both the Aloft and Urban Johnnie have instructed their staff to not use their parking garages, instead telling them to park on the streets east of their establishments. Once you add up waitstaff, bartenders, kitchen employees, and cleaning crews, the number is quite staggering. They take up all of the parking on 2nd from Walnut to Russel M. Perry and north on Central between 2nd and 3rd. This has made it to where the customers, not the employees, are having to walk 2-3 blocks just to frequent local establishments.
The entire district needs to get together and set guidelines for employee parking as to make a better experience for the customers.
Well, there's a giant Bricktown parking lot (behind Skinny Slims) that just needs better connection to be used by more people, right?
Yup.
DD right now is basically the "free parking" that everyone in DD and Bricktown use. I know some UJ employees park in the level garage. But with all the new business going in (Maywood lofts, OKSea, Aloft, UJ, Clark building dentist office) There is no parking on weekends essentially. Which is fine, but I can see it deterring the lazy customers.
THey need to work out a deal witht he Bricktown Parking lot that dankrutka mentioned for employees, at least. And yes, official stairs up the hill and over the track. The DD mystery bridge is becoming pretty rickety.
For those who doubt the viability of using shipping containers for stuff like this, here's a really cool link to shipping container homes. I love them! This Old Crate Seems Abandoned, But Look Inside And You'll Find A Ravishing Home!
Did anyone go to the meeting last night? I wanted to but totally forgot!
I didn't know where else to put this but here are a few pre-fab homes. One trend I think we will see more in the future.
