This and the Aloft should ensure that the park finally is maintained.

Couldn't agree more. This is just awesome. Loved my fiancee's reaction to when I showed her this "Great. More construction." - LOL

Just heard this project will go out to bid tomorrow.

Should see something happening on the site soon.

This is great news! Any idea on expected completion? Will these be pre-leased? I have heard that parking is a slight concern.

I believe it is largely pre-leased.

The nice thing is, once they get started this should be finished rather quickly.

A few months maybe? Seems all they have to do is put the containers into place (the proper areas are probably already cut out) and then do a quick finish of the inside.

I'm not sure why parking would be a concern. 1 block east the whole street is free parking.

    But... but walking!

It is just what I heard. Parking won't be as open when Aloft, Urban Johnnies, Dental 32, and the Mosaic ground space open. I am sure that there could be a way to share parking somewhere and on street parking will likely have an open spot at most times (definitely a block over by the Brownstones).

Oklahoman's are going to have to transition to walking a block or so to have a Class A experience in Deep Deuce.

This is the winning sentence. Oklahomans and business owners will continue to gripe about parking until this practice of walking becomes more common.

I think in 10 years, it is going to be silly to expect to park anywhere near the place you want to go downtown. Streetcar is the number 2 step in this. Number 1 is getting people to actually begin walking and showing the city we WANT sidewalks and WANT crosswalks.

    btw, what is Dental 32?

Actually, you can park in the north Bricktown lot and walk right up the (invisible!) steps right to OKSEA if someone wants to be close. None of us who live in the neighborhood think anything of a block. I walk up to Coffee Slingers. My son sometimes walks from the Guardian to Deep Deuce.

All I know is that we need to get used to walking, because my walking muscles are total garbage and down here in Buenos Aires where I have to walk everywhere, I'm already in pain <36 hours since arriving.

Haha, yeah I'm a big runner but still after several months in Europe I had blisters all over my feet.

Takes a while to adjust and shows you how (sadly) sedimentary the American lifestyle really is.

Enjoy your adventure... We are expecting lots of posts and photos from down there.

We should never care about parking ever again. Not ever. If people aren't going to go someplace because they can't park right in front, they don't deserve to go there.

Especially with a place like this, which seems to have a primary target market of Deep Deuce/Bricktown residents. If anyone is concerned about parking with this project, they are missing the point entirely.

Ha, when I first read this, I was thinking it was a going to be a new aquarium for the Adventure District.

This project continues to move forward.

The ABC 3 overlay is on this Thursdays planning commission meeting.

For those not aware. That means a Bar with more than 50% sales alcohol allowed

I believe I know what the ABC 3 Overlay is for, but I cannot say at this time. Once I find out more information I will post (assuming I'm right).

Not to mention that in 3 years the streetcar will be running a short distance away from this. I'm very much hoping people who drive downtown at night will park in the 10th St. or some other garage and ride the streetcar to their destinations once it is up and running.

Probably not going to happen, unless they're going to other destinations as well. If you're going to go to McNellie's and then here…sure, because most Oklahomans probably aren't going to walk. But if I'm going to Skinny Slim's, there's no way I'm parking 15 blocks away and taking the street car when I can park 2 blocks away for free and walk.

Another barrier to entry will be if they charge to use the street car. There has to be some net benefit for someone to make use of something. Novelty is not a good one.

Wouldn't that be amazing? Exactly what I do when I drive into Chicago - park in the Howard garage (or whichever is most convenient) - and just hop on the El into the city. Works so much better than driving around for half an hour, not finding a spot, then parking in a garage for $30. Granted parking here will never be that expensive, but still...

PluPan just posted on the Guyutes thread that at today's Planning Commission meeting that an ABC (liquor) license was approved for this project and they made mention of a dog park as well.

Just confirmed that a dog park will definitely be a part of this, to be located at the southeast (lower right) corner of this project. The bar/restaurant will be operated by "a very well-known and respected restaurant group" and you'll be able to sit outside with a beer/drink and watch your pup.

    Should be pretty amazing.
