I'll do what I can to make it a "free day" for me. We should have an online teach-in first, so we're all well versed on city codes, etc. It would be nice if we could use the chat function that Venture has, so we know how to present. I'm guessing the pearl clutchers know how to pull the strings.
It might be the same two ladies who vigorously protested the streetcar having a presence on 13th St. They were at multiple meetings worrying that people riding the streetcar would park in HH and were quite vocal. Interestingly, neither one actually lives there. One inherited property in HH and the other owns a business on 13th.
I don't think they were the reason the streetcar is no longer planned for 13th St., but they might be part of the reason. They were very squeaky wheels.
244 petition signatures and counting!
418!!! This is awesome to watch.
This little exercise shows how many people lurk these threads without commenting. It's pretty amazing. Pete, your site rocks!
Yeah, almost 600 signatures.
I've said it many times by we have more the 10X the lurkers than even registered members; and of those registered only a very small fraction actually posts.
We have almost a million page views a month now. I know the site isn't read by everyone but I also think most don't fully appreciate the reach. Which why it's important to be nice!![]()
About to break the 600 threshold. Great job!
It has been interesting to see the conversations from 2 homeowners that are against the development of 23rd on nextdoor.com. I guess everyone is entitled to an opinion. It has demonstrated that a couple squeaky wheels have gotten a lot of traction, but it is also great to see people coming out and fighting back.
Not to burst any bubbles, but I've seen the survey link posted on every major social media site, so while I'm certain a good chunk of traffic came from this site, there are likely other major sources...
619 now!
Signed, looks like it's at 697.

Just started getting spam from moveon.org. Ugh. Guess I missed a checkbox...
No checkbox, actually, just the fine print under the big red "Sign the petition" button: Note: By signing, you agree to receive email messages from MoveOn.org Civic Action and MoveOn.org Political Action. You may unsubscribe at any time.
I anticipate unsubscribing fairly soon.
I am creating a PDF and sending to the appropriate party at the planning commission today, in advance of the two meetings coming up later in the month.
We are at over 700 signatures and I want to make sure the petition is received in plenty of time to be included with the agendas.
It includes names, comments (if any), city and zip code.
Prepare for a pearl- clutching outbreak at the hearing.
