    Rock & Brews

The original is out here in El Segundo, a real beer garden setting which I absolutely love.

Only locations are El Segundo, Redondo Beach, and Los Cabos.

Coming soon: LAX, Hawaii, Albuquerque and the KC area.

Far out man! (<--- 70's lingo)

I wonder what got his interest in an OKC location?

Hot dang, another burger and pizza concept. Does look a tad more fun than some of the others.

Looks similar to The Rock Wood Fired Pizza & Spirits places we have up here (they started in Tacoma), it is a music themed place and pretty good.

Really like the original location in El Segundo but haven't been to any of the newer or franchised spots.

Puckered up for Oklahoma: KISS-inspired Rock & Brews plotted for OKC, Tulsa
By: Kirby Lee Davis March 10, 2014
    Journal Record

TULSA – Oklahoma could see its first KISS-inspired Rock & Brews restaurant open next year.

On May 1 in Overland Park, Kan., franchisee Kanbrews LLC of Topeka, Kan., will open the first of five planned Kansas and Oklahoma locations. Once the bugs are worked out, owner Kirk Williams intends to scout for sites in Tulsa and Oklahoma City for possible openings the following summer.

“In my mind, Bricktown becomes an obvious target to begin your search in Oklahoma City,” said Williams, who is also president of Topeka’s Legacy Restaurant Group. “In Tulsa we could possibly be looking at two or three different areas, depending on having the right number of rooftops.”

Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, founders of the legendary rock band KISS, launched El Segundo, Calif.-based Rock & Brews in 2012 with hospitality entrepreneur Michael Zislis and music industry veterans Dave and Dell Furano.

With 5,100 square feet under roof and a 1,500-square-foot patio, Rock & Brews marks a possible return to large dining concepts that struggled after the 2008 recession. This concept combines hamburgers, pizza and other items of American cuisine with a full bar, all cast in a post-concert theme decorated by rock memorabilia, multiple televisions and plentiful rock music.

“Certainly KISS is a part of that, but you’re going to see Bruce Springsteen on the wall, and U2 on the wall, and Pink Floyd and AC/DC,” Williams said. “You’re going to see all kinds of rock ‘n’ roll on the walls. It’s not just a tribute to KISS.”

The chain’s family orientation includes a play area and dog-friendly policies.

“It is not a live concert venue,” said Williams, noting the lack of a stage. “This is 27 TVs in a very family-friendly environment that would play music videos and concert footage and yet, if the appropriate football or basketball game is on, a number of TVs would be on the regional sports.”

Rock & Brews operates three Los Angeles restaurants, one in Los Cabos, Mexico, and one in Paia, Hawaii, on Maui. Locations are under development in Arizona, New Mexico, Florida and Texas.

Williams’ franchise marks the first of several anticipated Rock & Brews expansion agreements. Besides its five-year Kansas and Oklahoma pact, Kanbrews has an option for another five openings in Missouri and Nebraska.

Legacy operates 21 Wendy’s restaurants in Kansas and Missouri.

Williams said he expects to use Lenexa, Kan., contractor 2Point Construction for his building efforts, from plans by Rees Masilionis Turley Architecture of Kansas City, Mo.

“2Point has done two of my Wendy’s remodels,” said Williams.

How big is the old Joker's comedy club? I could see it going in there.

Why would they only put one in OKC and "2 to 3" in Tulsa?

Not taking a bchris stance at all, but are our demographics really that bad?

Could be wrong, but I think he meant that they are looking at 2 or 3 areas as options for their Tulsa location whereas Bricktown would be their choice location in OKC.

If they don't have to do a new build out, this sounds like a great option to fill the old Coaches space in the Ballpark. It seems like a large enough space, not sure if it's over 5,000 sq ft. though.

    That is: 229 E. Sheridan - OKCTalk.

About the right size although they would have a hard time accommodating a large enough patio.

Fantastic idea. Especially since they position themselves as family friendly.

Those are some major Bricktown Buzzwords lately.

How big is the Patio overlooking the stadium? I think they could find plenty of space around that building for additional patio area if that wasn't big enough.

Not sure what kind of condition it's in, but a rooftop patio would do well there. Nothing else immediately west of it is over one story so there would be unobstructed views of DT. The patio at Coach's is a pretty good size. It might be 1,500 square feet.
