Windows are good.
This school will indeed have a storm shelter.
New OKC elementary will add safe room | News OK
That's good. Its pretty sad that it took deaths before the they decided to build a safe room in this school. It should be a given that all new schools built in Oklahoma have a safe room. The costs are not that great when its built into the school from the very beginning.

I love this project.
Well, it's certainly looking better than the original prison design.
I think it's an awesome design -- and though I respect Spartan's many ingenious observations -- I part ways with him on this project. There are lots of windows. This is anything but a prison, and it's a very solid urban design.

It is a neat design. When looking at just the North side of the gym, the skinny windows on the second floor and the space between the window pairs remind me of a prison look every day when walking by it but that is such a small part of the big design which is very cool. I think this is the gym area so are they just for light? The west side had many more windows as does the first floor of the same building. I agree with Sooner though that it is a solid urban design.
Yeah, I like it a lot. I think it's a great addition to downtown on many levels,
Having a school is better than not having a school in your community, regardless of design. The design hindsight kicks in when you realize you've spent $3M on a significant structure.
I really like that first pic a lot.

In looking at the original plans, I don't see the colored windows. I went by the school yesterday and I'm so glad they're doing this. It adds some whimsy to the building. I think we'll actually be quite proud of this school when its complete. While the gym doesn't have a lot of windows, gyms don't typically have many/any windows and resemble the Cox Convention Center more than anything, as a group. I think this one looks quite nice, for a gym, and I noticed it's getting colored windows as well.
I like the quality materials they used on this school

Sad to think that the "boulevard" (substitute through way here) will completely cut off pedestrian and bike access to this school from any Core to Shore housing.
What is that roof area on the NE corner of the school?
