ahhhhh, this movie is hysterical.. serious lmao funny.

There is one scene that I almost couldn't breathe because I was laughing so hard.. the whole theater was busting up..

I will admit, a few moments of feeling very uncomfortable ( he covers some pretty controversial topics), but overall omg.. I laughed until I cried..

    Two thumbs up!

Harkins' 10pm and 12am showing Friday night was sold out. It was the only sold out movie in the theatre.

Yes the movie was hilarious! It did have some very... uh... let's say interesting moments, but overall was awesome.

Went to see it last night...And boy that movie is just plain wrong!!...It is very funny and one scene is hilarious and unsettling at the same time

Does show off some of America's greatest backwood idiots...Thankfully it wasn't in Oklahoma!

The movie is hilarious! Sacha Baron Cohen is one funny guy. We are just lucky they didn't feature Oklahoma.....remember, Borat attended and taped a segment at OKC Traffic Commission!

My stepmother told me it was really offensive and warned me not to see it and she's by no means a prude. So I don't know. I do know that Borat wanting "to make a romance explosion inside of" Pamela Anderson is hilarious.

Okay guys I'm taking your word for it and going to see it this weekend. I have been really dissappointed with movie for several months now.

    okcguy,

Go see the movie. Yes it is terribly offensive and absolutely hilarious. Don't listen to stepmom.

Okcguy, every person imaginable can get offended in this movie.. there are a few scenes that made me cringe but it is eye opening to see how some still feel in middle America. I was panicked watching the map and their route hoping and praying they didn't drive through OKlahoma!! whew!

Anyway, you can go see the movie knowing he 'caps' on everyone imaginable ( from Jews to women to gays to blacks to rednecks to drunk college kids) and decide not to take offense and laugh your butt off, or you can choose to be offended. The first choice is so much more fun! Life's short... enjoy.

ahhh, DVD out today. I watched the promos and deleted scenes.. omg...

I'm just going to say Massage and Cheese.. tell me if you saw these. I laughed so hard! This guy is amazing to be able to stay in character.. just unbelieveable.. and the short producer.. no accent whatsoever in real life.

I watched it again for the third time .. still hysterically funny to me.. but that's the kind of humor I love.

I can't see how someone wouldn't laugh throughout this movie .. oh well, different strokes and all that.

oh, there are parts that are hysterical and i could watch them over and over... but other parts... well... i don't ever ever ever want to see again. -M

  17. Default Re: Borat

Yeah, that's true.. there are a few times - eeeek! watching with fingers covering eyes.. but if you decide to rent it again.. watch the deleted scenes.. but don't watch the #1 Pet scene.. I know why they deleted that.. ( now of course everyone will watch it.. don't do it, lol)

But the other scenes and publicity jaunts were well worth seeing.

Well, I rented the DVD the other night. Much to my surprise it wasn't near as good as it was hyped up to be. I think they did an excellent job with the guerilla marketing and low budget filming to try and make it another Napoleon Dynamite but I just think it didn't live to the standards it claimed. I usually LOVE this type of humor. I'm not saying it wasn't funny, some were hilarious, but all in all it wasn't that great. Some parts were super funny but utterly disgusting and definitely wouldn't want to watch again (think his fight with publicist naked in hotel room, hilarious but nasty or crapping in a plastic bag). I was a little shocked with the opinions of the drivers ed guy and the rodeo guy, those parts were somewhat funny and surprising. Him singing the national anthem was downright degrading to America and wrong. This is something I'd be willing to watch another film of his out of sheer curiousity, but since he's too Michael Moore-ish, I don't want to give him a dime to support him. All in all I'd give it a 6 or 6.5 out of ten, but that's just my two cents, I could be a little critical since I'm in the film industry, well sorta (worked on 3 films so far).

This may be the funniest movie I have ever seen. It was great watching it in the theater and getting to hear the audience's reaction to different scenes. I'm not sure that it will be the same watching it on DVD, but I'll give it a shot.

Good times, Easy. Definitely enjoyed it. The two naked men wrestling/fighting didn't bother me too much, though...it was the Evangelical church that made me squirm

I was a little disappointed with it as well. Some funny moments.....enjoyed the village, the non-staged moments, the friendliness of New York City, etc. But overall...I'd give it a 6 out of 10.

Glad he included the scene of the privileged white kids talking about how minorities 'ran the country'. Amazing how many idiot white people you meet that actually say these things.
