Thread: Looking for scenic venue for event for 200 people

  1. Default Looking for scenic venue for event for 200 people

I'm needing ideas for a venue for an event I'm planning this summer.

I don't want the standard indoor venue - hoping for something on a roof or with large windows with a great view.

Event will be in July in the evening for about 200 people (business casual).

Downtown, Midtown, Bricktown, Deep Deuce, Automobile Alley type location.

Anyone know of a rooftop space that also has indoor facilities in case of bad weather?

Will probably have the event catered with nice appetizers and need room for a DJ or small band.

OKC Museum of Art -- they have contingency space inside.

    Other rooftops:
    Above Rawhide
    Above Plenty Mercantile
    Packard's

Park House has a covered patio. Could do an indoor/door thing. Also could rent the covered pavllion in the Myriad Gardens and/or the meeting space adjacent to the Crystal Bridge.

Flint has a patio with plenty of indoor bar space.

The meeting spaces on both the first and second levels on the new section of the Colcord (attached to Devon) have really nice outdoor space. The 2nd level has a nice patio that overlooks the MBG.

Skyybar is empty -- perhaps you could rent that out. Has a big patio plus big space inside.

Aloft has the rooftop patio on the west side and adjoining meeting space. Also, if restaurant space on ground level isn't leased, perhaps they would rent that out. Has a large patio.

Devon and CHK Boathouses have indoor/outdoor space.

Pink Cadillac (formerly Lit) has a great rooftop patio.

How about Sandridge Commons under the canopy? I believe they rent out that space now.

    Oooh...

And the new top-level meeting space or the O Bar at the Ambassador Hotel!

This would be my choice. Stunning views, new venue so few people would have seen it, awesome development. People can stay overnight.

The Aloft space might be even better:

Vast has all types of meeting rooms on the 49th and 50th floor.

I hosted my class reunion of about 350 there this summer and it was amazing:

It's not an outdoor space, but I'm a huge fan of the Farmers Market.

We considered it, but I know someone who hosted an event there and they said the lady they dealt with was a 100% pain in the arse.

My fave would be the Hall of Mirrors in the Civic Center. Very large and ornate. Nice view of downtown. Lots of parking nearby.
