There is a rather tattered looking banner hanging out front that promises "authentic spicy food coming soon". Anyone heard anything?

At 60th & N. May?
Had lunch there last week. Food & service was fine, a good crowd was in attendance, and there was no mention of changes. Hmmm...
i'd imagine the op is talking about the original location at about 46th & may which was originally a taco tico and most recently an italia express. -M
I used to live directly across May Ave from that place. It was nice being able to just walk over for a Gyro lunch special now and then... Good stuff.
Hmmmm.... I love hot and spicy food.... Will definitely be checking it out!
(meaning of "coming soon".) its as ambiguous as "going out of business sales."
Spoke with the owners yesterday - they will be serving Indian/Pakistani food and are set to open on Friday (I'd guess in time for the dinner crowd).
Are we talking about the Zorba's that was on about 47th and N. May?
If so, I thought it was marginal at best. In other words, passable but not
great. I'm not so sure they're Greek. At least they didn't know what I was
saying when I spoke Greek to them. I was given the "deer in the headlights"
look.
I agree. See my post #12. Even when they were open they weren't worth
the gas a totally electric car emitted. I believe McDonald's has better
Greek food. Wait! They don't serve Greek food. Maybe I meant Burger
King. Is there a fish sammich in Greek? Don't they serve matzah ball fish
sammiches?
It looks like they are now open. Still not sure just who they are, the temp sign out front was sagging pretty low this morning.
They named the restaurant Sheesh Mahal - some details linked:

Having spent the first 18 years of my life in Wichita, I would actually like to see the return of Taco Tico. Let the dogging commence...
count me in on team tico.Originally Posted by urbanized
true... but that location is in a gas station. i think the closest free-standing store is in duncan. not that i would admit to ever having driven to shawnee or duncan just to get some taco tico....Originally Posted by ok bbq eater anonymous

huh... looked it up and you're right. it's been over 10 years since i went but that one was definitely in a gas station... i just assumed it was the same location. perhaps shawnee was once a two taco tico town? judging by google maps, looks like the location i went to has since closed. if i remember right, it was close to the spur. -MOriginally Posted by ok bbq eater anonymous
At one time they did... Robb's Smokehouse is located in the other location I know of that has the typical Taco Tico architecture like the old Zorba's. The one on Harrison is in some other failed fast food building.
Those are the only two I remember but it's possible there could have been a third there I did not know about.
No...
