... do guys drive with their left hand on the steering wheel and their right arm
over the back of the seat next to them when there isn't a babe in the seat?
In the words of the King of Siam, "tis a puzzlement."

Changing positions. There are only so many places to put one's arms, you know.
I drive like that. It's just comfortable.
It feels weird to drive with my right hand even though I'm right handed.
Must not have a console then.
Probably has something to do with the door being on your left side. Would the same hold true in countries that have RHD?
Drive with my right unless I'm using my knee.
I switch hands left and right (get it?). Like putting my left arm out the window on a decent day.
Now Prune, just because you can't see the babe, that doesn't mean she ain't there in the mind of the driver.
Some folks, they daydream.
Copycat society? Just sayin. I probably started doing it cause that's how everyone I rode with when I was a kid drove. Obviously you start out at 10 and 2 but everyone fades away from that over time so it's my guess that subconscious wins out.
Because it's too cold to hang your left arm out the window.![]()
