The nachos consisted of about 12 chips with some melted cheddar
and a slice of jalapeno. We were fascinated with them!
The new Alfredo's is at 38th and McArthur. It is in the same shopping center but not in the same location in the shopping center that Cocina de Mino was in. It is about two or three doors to the east of Jersey Mike's Subs.
We'd stop by the El Charrto on south Robinson sometimes on Sundays and my mother would buy some tortillas which she'd use later in the week to make her own tacos.
When I was old enough to go to work with my dad some of the guys there would take me with them to El Charrito at the Paseo. Mr. Alvarado would be standing there at the door greeting every customer. To me he was the epitome of grace and gentlemanly stature. I imagined him as an aristocrat. And well remember the Defeat.
I got a flyer in the mail from Alfredo's.
I saw the new Alfredo's location! I'm going to have a hard time trying
them since Los Amigos is only 2 blocks away. Los Amigos is some major
league Tex-Mex and is on par with El Charritos of old.
Our church has catered Alfredo's several times for Wednesday evening
dinner and it's very good.
We went. Really liked the deep-fried tacos but stay away from the cheese enchiladas. Not good. Service is very attentive and friendly and the place is quite clean. All in all, it was pretty good and I'll give it another shot.
I recommend the Street Tacos or if you like spicy, the Guiso Verde. soooo good. and make sure you get the sopapilla with glaze and instead of cinnamon sugar.
