Thnks Pete meant to say wont add more stress.
Mahogany is very good. Between Red, Mickey Mantle's, and now Mahogany I doubt we will be seeing national steak houses downtown. This is good because these places are better than the chains.
Just heard that the Mahogany deal is dead.
They had been interested but evidently could not make the numbers work and/or were worried about competition from the well-established Red Prime and Mickey Mantle's very nearby.
I know the CC owners are working with another possible tenant and hope to have more soon.
I'm fine with that…we don't need another steakhouse downtown. What we need is a nice seafood establishment.
I do hope that whatever goes in on that corner is on the upscale side with an average per person meal of ~$40-$50 before gratuity. And it really really really needs to have a fantastic patio considering the view that it will have.
...ok maybe one of these...McCormicks & Schmicks , Upscale fun & a very nice business dinner.

Because it's in the CBD and will have the obvious clientele available for such a venue. And when you're spending $100 for 2 people on dinner you're more likely to stay for a longer period of time and enjoy the entirety of the meal. It would create a clam yet vibrant environment on that corner, especially being coupled with Flint. Plus with Park House going in, it would create a nice upscale niche in the area, and if it's a great restaurant people will come to the place at night regardless that it's in the CBD.
I would like to (and suspect that we will) see some more regularly priced options on the street level @ the Stage Center Tower, + Ice House, and fingers-crossed, hopefully in some restaurant/retail space on the convention center lot.
Ha…nice!
M&S is a great choice of a chain. It has a national following. It is upscale, but not too much so. It would fit in with the downtown style. It is something we don't have. And, if a full M&S isn't on the horizon, they have a M&S Grille which is still very good and is like a M&S Lite.
If we could have a great steak place. My choice would be Smith & Wollensky. They are the best!

Doh. Sid beat me to it!
From my experience, you're actually a lot more argumentative than I am. I am getting really tired of having to explain in yet another thread the value of keeping discussions topical and evaluating based on only the merits that are evident. Not many of you OKC Talkers these days would make good Erasmuses.
What's funny is that after you flipped out on me several more posters chimed in that this project is visibly falling apart. The Century Center is not a renovation-worthy structure and there isn't much way to argue that, especially when you consider the site that it occupies. Yet, this gets "preserved" and "redeveloped" whilst the Stage Center site, equally as valuable, must be razed to make way for growth! These outcomes are too incongruent to not notice.
This Century Center project was acceptable on this site given that the structure was to be expanded, reskinned, and for the most part repurposed. Now that this project is falling apart and the MOL sf is shrinking faster than this board's credibility lately, the smart thing would be to just call the whole thing off. This site needs a real development.
