Default Movie Quotes You Actually Quote In Real Life Situations

Title says it all. I actually was going to start this last week cause I found it odd that "someone" didn't know where a movie line came from and I thought it'd be fun to find out if any of you actually ever use your favorite quote from a movie more often than not.

My line that I used is "Negative Ghostrider, the pattern is full", which (in case some of ya'll are youngins) is from Top Gun, starring Tom Cruise. This line is used when he asks the tower if he can perform a flyby on the aircraft carrier deck, which he receives that answer, which he does anyway and then gets verbally castrated for not following orders (but it's Tom Cruise so who cares, right?). Anyway, I tend to say that when people ask for something that I can't fulfill, lol.

What about the rest of you?

PS, I watched 'Hangover III' the other night and heard a common line that has made its way around the US and I'm sure other parts of the world. That line was, "I know, right?", which is spoken by Alan. That's probably the only case where I've seen a phrase I've spoken plenty of times and then seen it in a movie, lol.

"I am depressed!" Taggart (Slim Pickens) in Blazing Saddles

"Turn to the right!" Ed (Holly Hunter) in Raising Arizona (whenever I'm navigating and want my wife to 'turn to the right')

"Don't you blaspheme in here!" Aretha Franklin in The Blues Brothers

"Coffee's for closers." and "A B C - Always Be Closing." Blake (Alec Baldwin) in Glengarry Glen Ross (when dealing with recruiters)

Thanks, you just made me realize how much of a dork I am.

"'Fra-gi-le' Why, it must be from Italy!" (the Dad in A Christmas Story).

"Badges? We don' need no steenkin' badges . . ." (The Treasure of the Sierra Madre)

"Say! Why don't we put on a show!" (Mickey Rooney in every one of those Mickey Rooney/Judy Garland flicks.)

"They're polluting our precious bodily fluids." (Sterling Hayden as the insane general in Dr. Strangelove)

"It's good to be the King." (Mel Brooks, The History of The World)

"The Dude abides . . ." (Jeff Lebowski, The Big Lebowski)

    Oops . . . I forgot:
"Open the pod bay doors, H.A.L." (2001: A Space Odyssey)

Whenever anyone in my circle of friends wins something, it's always dubbed a "major award". The line I use all the time was delivered by Chief Dan George in 'Little Big Man': "...sometimes the magic works...and sometimes it doesn't."

"Say hello to my little friend!" ..... I'll let you figure out on your own what context I use that one in.

Most of mine are modified though.

There are several from A Christmas Story:.

    The Old Man says:

"All the best trees are going to be taken." ...... I switch out trees for whatever we are going for.

"You used all the glue... on purpose!" ..... Glue get's switched out for whatever item has been used.

I also have been known to quote a lot of lines from The Big Lebowski, mostly the line that Walter is yelling as he's smashing the car, and a slew of Clint Eastwood movies.

"There's a beverage involved here man!" Big Lebowski
When traveling "I thought the Rocky Mountains would be a lot Rockier than this..." "That John Denver's full of sh!t man..." Dumb and Dumber
Whenever we are traveling and leave KS, "I have a feeling we're not in KS anymore."
In church during the communion callbacks, "May the force be with you." "And also with you."
When we get back from vacation, "There's no place like home."
When someone asks for the truth, "You can't handle the truth!"

This reminded me of my favorite line from that movie - "Somebody's gonna have to go back and get a ****load of dimes!"

Granted it's fill in the blank but I have to guess a few people around here use "Um yeah, I'm gonna need you to go ahead and come in to work on Saturday morning. If you could do that for me that would be greaaaat, yeeeeaaaaah", which is from Office Space.

Ok... all the Mel Brooks quotes reminded me of another I do every time we go through the KFC drive through.

"What's the matter Colonel Sanders....... Chicken???" - Space Balls

I really didn't realize how much I do this.... LOL
