I work at GM down here and they (somebody) brought over the brand new Corvette for us to see. It's a sweet car for sure and I would give my 1st born to have that car but since they are all over 21 they wouldn't go for it. *lol*

Really like the change, too. Heard Ford is updating the Mustang this year, too. Not putting in the same class as the Corvette, but I can see that GM got it right with the Corvette.
Now if they could just get it down to my price range... I could afford the seat *lol*
Where is it that your work?
A buddy of min has owned Vettes for 4 decades and was invited about 10 years ago to be on a GM owners advisory committee. He always bought a Vette in even numbered years. Much to my surprise he is passing on this one and will wait for the 2016.
As far as I'm concerned, The Corvette reached the apex of its body design in 1961.
I seem to recall that this was a year or two before the Sting Ray.
(but i was only nine or ten years old at the time so i could be wrong.)
1967 was my favorite model, but hew one looks pretty fine.
"The hew one . . ." hmmmm . . .
On account of I haven't yet seen any pitchures, i have to ask: Have they re-introduced some wood on the side panels?
(sorry. really. well . . . sorta.)
"I got a really new Corvette and we call it a 'Woodie'
"Surf City here we come . . ."
Everything behind the front seats is batteries because it's Electric!
Or is that eclectic?
AnywayZ . . .
To atone for the "loss" of trees involved in the production of this fine motor vehicle,
we incorporated a wind turbine into the hood ornament and solar cells into the white-wall tires!
But wait! There's more!
See that chrome? Tesla Magnetic Earth Energy Converters.
Yes. You heard it rite.
I got to take a brief ride in [maybe a '67(?)] 'Vette one time when I was hitchhiking down to the library or whatnot.
The main thing I remember was that it rode like a tank at about 35 mph. I guess that's so you could feel the road and corner at high speed.
In reality, my own '60 model VW bug (with the totally functional forced air valve heater between the front seats and the non-functional european semaphore turnsignals) had a smoother ride. =)
Don't confuse any of that with sour grapes. =)
I had a bug, can't remember the year, but it was from Germany. Had shortwave on the radio.
Hopefully, it was equipped with a little video screen just below the rear view mirror or on the back of the driver's flip-down sun visor providing subtitles so's you could know what they were saying on the shortwave radio . . .
My '60 model had a back-up warning system that consisted of a very human-like holler or shout, followed by some cursing and maybe some pounding on the rear engine cover . . .
I would love a 67 small block convertible.
I still am on the fence about the C7, I like some of it and some things I just don't like from the pictures that I have seen. Just like the Camaro, there are just some things I don't like about the looks, I think the Challenger is the best looking of the retro muscle cars and I do like the current Mustang.
I have been looking at used C6's as a replacement for my BMW Z4. Still not sure if I am going to get a coupe or convertible, probably depends on what I find and the deal. The "deal" is why I have the Z4 right now, I was looking at C5's but really wanted a C6 but they were more than I wanted to spend. Ran across a 2003 Z4 with 45,000 miles on it, bought it for $15,400 (bought in 2009) when the C5's were 22-28K. I have put 43,000 miles on the Z4 in 4 years and book value on the car is between 10-12K even with the mileage. I am just ready for a Vette now that the C6's are getting into the area of what I am willing to spend.
anything pre 1973...preferably rag top but a split window is cool also
I rode in a Corvette once, north on I-35 on the console between two dudes; a convertible on a summer night in 1969. No traffic. Groovy.
I've driven every iteration of the Corvette, including the new C7 (was invited to a press thing due to a site I admin on). And it's the best yet. It's a world class piece of gear at a bargain price (relative to it's peers). Not taking anything away from the previous generations...But the new one is a home run in my opinion.
I can't wait to see what they do with the Z06/ZR1 C7's.
I'm sure it is an improvement in every technical aspect just like every iteration starting with the C4 was an improvement, one reason why I wanted a C6 over a C5. At this point I am not going to spend that kind of money on a C7 (or any other car) and since I have only seen pics I haven't been won over by the styling, of course in person it may be a different story....still wouldn't buy one since my car budget doesn't go that high. Need to start building a SpecE36 or Spec Miata, that is where I intend to put the difference.
That's actually called cyber gray metallic, its a very popular color and the same color as my C6, also used on the Camaro for a couple of years before they switched to 'ashen gray'. Look at it in the sunlight and you will see blue metallic flakes in the paint, very cool.
