Only under very specific conditions would I support the death penalty (ex: Full confession backed up with evidence or in a case where the murderer was apprehend in the course of the murder or an individual's guilty is undeniable - which means more than a single thread of connection).

You'd seriously tell a family member whose spouse or sibling or parent was put to death because the real murderer lied and falsely testified against them that "Oh well, its an imperfect system."

People with that mindset scare the hell out of me.

I'd much rather see 100 guilty walk free than to see a single person falsely imprisoned let alone put to death.

Because throwing them in prison where they have TV, 3 meals a day and get to hang out in the yard is such a brutal punishment.

Age 13 and up in OK are presumed adults on murder one, subject to reverse certification process if one seeks to boot them back to juvi status. DP however is now bright-lined at 18 years by S.CT a few years back using, IIRC. a case out of Kentucky.
